This afternoon we visited our local animal shelter and came home with a new family member. Welcome to Nashville ... (my daughter named him because she loves the state of Tennessee -- we're gonna call him Nash for short).
We introduced him to our remaining pup twin, Bodacious, and they got along famously! Looks like they are going to be best buds, and our house will again be filled with the wonderful sounds of puppy feet. According to his paperwork, Nash is a Boxer-Mastiff mix, and he is the SWEETEST little fellow. He has a boo-boo (scar) on his back, but overall is a healthy 4 month old pup, who's definitely gonna get B-I-G!

We live on sort of a family compound, there's about 6 acres between the three of us (our family, my Mother-in-law behind us, and my Sister-in-law behind her). We actually have a field where we used to keep the horse between our house/yard and my Mother-in-law's house/yard.
We're used to big dogs though, we had a rottweiler, 2 American bulldog pups, and then the jack/min-pin mix -- four dogs in all. We're big dog people mainly, so little man is going to fit in real well here. He just moves so fast right now I can't get any really good pictures of him. Will try again tomorrow.

Well I know he has a good home, and with that much space to run he will be a happy pup for sure.

For some strange reason my daughter has a fascination with the state of Tennessee. She so wants to go to UT for college, but we'll have to work on that because she has prepaid college here in Florida. She really wanted to call him Tennessee, but that one's kind of hard to shorten for a nickname, :smirky:. Hence, "Nashville" so we can call him Nash.

He he he ... you can see why we fell instantly in love with the little feller, :smirky:. You should see the two dogs together, it's so adorable.

Oh yeah, he's already made himself at home. I had to go to a booster club meeting, so I wasn't home when they took him in the house but according to my daughter the first thing he did when he got in the house was jumped up and into MY chair -- an old recliner that used to be my Dad's. 'Course that's pretty fitting, because if my Dad were still alive, he would be wrapped around that little critter's paw because he loved dogs.

:icon126: Well, as a youngster he's not so aware of when he's "exposing" himself at the wrong times, He's a hoot, that's for sure.

I actually have two cousins who go there. They love it. It's a huge place.
We used to have a dog named "Dakota," named after the North and South Dakota's. We taught her to bark when intruders were driving into our driver(a sort of "alarm" for us when we had visitors), and to chase after liberals. I hope Nash learns to do the same, especially the latter. :D
And love how you "censored" Nash.:rotflmbo:
