A federal agency revoked the license of the Tacoma, Wash., gun dealers whose shop supplied the rifle said to have been used in last fall's Washington area sniper shootings.
The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said it took the action against the owners of Bull's Eye Shooter Supply after a lengthy investigation of the shop's business dealings. The probe included allegations that the store's owners listed hundreds of weapons as "missing," such as the XM-15 semiautomatic rifle that authorities said was used in the sniper attacks.
"This is good news," said Vickie Snider, the sister of James L. "Sonny" Buchanan, who was slain in the attacks. "We know that in the future, they won't be selling weapons irresponsibly." Buchanan, a 39-year-old landscaper, was killed Oct. 3 while mowing grass near White Flint Mall in Montgomery County.
