Sniper Victims Join Lawsuit to Fight Gun Use

They found themselves linked only by fate and the random aim of a sniper's scope.
But now, more and more of the victims of last fall's sniper shootings are coming together -- in a courtroom -- in a suit against the manufacturer and seller of the rifle used in the attacks. The growing list of victims and family members who have signed on to the lawsuit now stands at nine.
"I think we've all been together from the beginning," said Victoria Snider, whose brother, James L. "Sonny" Buchanan, was killed while mowing a lawn in White Flint on Oct. 3. "Some have bonded more than others, but we've all lost extraordinary people in our lives."
Yesterday, in Tacoma, Wash., a state judge agreed to add seven victims and relatives to the original two plaintiffs in the suit against Bushmaster Firearms Inc., the Maine-based manufacturer of the XM-15 rifle used in the attacks, and Bull's Eye Shooter Supply, the Tacoma gun shop where the suspects allegedly got the rifle.
Much has been made of the diversity of the sniper victims: They were black, white, Asian; they were old and young. They had different jobs and came from different places. Since the shootings, there has been little contact among family members, who have chosen to grieve more privately than have the victims of other disasters such as plane crashes and tornadoes. But the lawsuit has given them common ground.

[ QUOTE ]
Richard Dyke, chief executive of Bushmaster, said the sniper victims are being used by gun control advocates to advance a political agenda. "The shooter went in and stole the gun," Dyke said. "How does that traverse [back] to the manufacturer?"
[/ QUOTE ]
It doesn't...even Forrest Gump could figure that one out!! For Pete's sake, how does this traverse back to the gun shop from whence the gun was STOLEN?? This whole 'lawsuit' is based upon nothing but emotional bullshit!! It certainly has no logical merit.
[ QUOTE ]
Snider, though, says even that is important. "Everyone in the group has different feelings," Snider said. "But I think it has raised to the forefront how many people are killed by gun violence."
[/ QUOTE ]
...and the FACT remains that far more people are killed with automobiles and swimming pools each and every year in this country...why no outrage about those heinously eeeeevil cars and that EXTREMELY toxic chemical dihydrogen monoxide??

The absolute STUPIDITY of some people amazes me. God I hate liberals. I know it isn't right to feel that way but these people are absolute ****ing morons. Look at the facts you commie ****ing derelicts. GUN CONTROL DOES NOT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The places in the US with the tightest gun control laws have the highest crime rates. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND THAT? Do you think that's a coincidence?

This case is a gun-grabber's dream case.
Keep in mind that when a large group (in this case only 7, but that's 'large' in view of the total pool of victims in this case) join a case as plaintiffs at the same time, it's because the lawyers got to them and convinced them to join - not usually that difficult when they're at the mercy of some fast-talking snake lawyers with an agenda and a variety of 'silent' clients, such as the lawyers representing private plaintiffs in these gun suits.
All of them, these bereaved families included, sicken me.
I hope they lose. They won't, at least not as to the gun shop. The shopowner's insurance will be cancelled, the feds will pull his firearms sale license, and he'll be out of business. Bushmaster may survive, but I won't be surprised if they lose, too.
One can only hope that reason and logic prevail, but they often don't.
well one of the plaintiffs didnt even think of suin untill he spoke with a Brady center individual.
Nothing like brainwashing people into thinking they're 'Victims' hence they need to sue SOMEONE!!!
Since the snipers in question dont have 'money' they'll go after the next best thing, the gun manufacturer, just like the smokers went after the tobacco manufacturers, and yet that money never went to the tobacco 'vicoms' it went to lawyers and the shyster politicians who just wanted to line their pockets better with freebie money that was unattached.
Dam pissants!!!
Victimhood for money should be their Motto!
"I'm a victim, see me sue the pants off of you!"

Looks like the snipers didn't do a good enough job...
We can only hope laws get passed to prevent these kinds of frivilous law suits...and I can only hope that bad things continue to happen in these peoples lives...they seem to be the sort to deserve it.
The ones that need to be muzzed is the damned brady cener and their ilk, they're the ones brainwashing people into this 'victim' status and thinking that once you're a victim the world owes you a ton of money, and that in order to collect it you need to go straight to the source of the 'victimization' the manufacturers.
This is just a roundabout way to do prohibition, make is extremely hard if not impossible to manufacture and sell guns in this country because of the amount of litigation making it so incredibly impossible to sell a perfectly LEGAL Product.
Just like the tobacco companies.
Go figure, if they can get 9 on their bandwagon, they may think they can get more on it.
The more people they can convice are 'victims' the more power to themselves they gain in their agenda to disarm America.
These groups are nothing more than 5th columnists working hand-in-hand with the UN in the hopes od completely disarming America.
For the day America's enemies can destroy us all once they get to their goals.
Theres your enemy in a nutshell.
"Useful idiots"
One size dont fit all, theres different levels if 'useful idiots' the most stupid is the brainwashed types suin the gun manufactureres, they dont seem to know how to think for themselves.
The ones that have some brain are the ones that feel this is the path they need to follow and are convinced they have to achieve this goal by any means, they're the emotional ones that feel this is the right path to go on.
Then you have those who are smart who convince the emotional ones to set these goals, these people are closet Communists who have all along sought to hamstring, hold down, and undercut America's ability to defend itself from their brothers who are working hard to destroy us.

Some famous coutries that practiced gun control....
Nazi Germany, Iraq, Afghanistan.
While I sympathize with the victims, more laws is NOT the answer. Making those pay who are responsible for there crime IS as is enforcing the law. I don't care if prisons are overcrowded. The cons choose the lifestyle, they should then face the consequences.....no execeptions.
Ya know the United States soldier lives in worse living conditions than criminals do in prisons.
Why not make criminals live in worse conditions than that of US Soldiers? heh make em eat K-Rations, make em sleep outside in all sorts of weather and make em WORK hard every day.
Might do some good for em and make em NOT want to go back to prison
heh
Just some ideas.

Because criminals have more rights than even a soldier. Violate even one and a murderer walks free even though his victims had their rights taken from them.
well golly gee I thought when criminals did a crime they LOOSE all their rights, how did they get More rights than us little peons and soldiers that do more for society than what these doofuses ever would in twenty lifetimes?

It's called the Miranda decision...and it's bullshit. Sure, the police should inform one of one's rights, but to completely dismiss a criminal case b/c the criminal is too ******* stoooooopid to know his rights?? Sorry, that is just plain insane.
If one doesn't know their rights, well let's just say, "ignorance of the law/one's rights is no excuse" and it applies in spades in regards to alledged criminal activity. If ya ain't smart enough to know your rights, too damned bad. We're talkin' the most basic lessons in high school Civics class...which could present a problem with my whole argument...{EmilyLatellaVoice}Never mind!!{/voice}
I think its bout time the COURTS in themselves need to be friggin Limited.
Maybe a nice Constitutional Amendment to Limit the power and scope of the courts and put Legislation BACK to where it belongs, into the Legislative branch.
Too long have they shirked their duties because they didnt want to 'touch' those hot topics for fear it'll ruin their re-election chances.
Thats gotta stop danget!
(Yah wishful thinking heh)
