Loaded gun slips through airport security

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A passenger who went through an airport security checkpoint -- before remembering that he had a loaded gun -- is facing charges after going back to report his error, authorities said.

Gregory Scott Hinkle...went through a Transportation Security Administration checkpoint at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport...

After the traveler evidently recalled having the gun, he returned to the checkpoint and disclosed the weapon...

...airport police...charged the man with possessing or transporting a firearm into an air carrier terminal where prohibited...http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/01/23/airport.gun/index.html

Actually no, if he had gotten on the plane with the gun and it took off, it probably would have turned out a lot worse.

But this man seems to be missing a "Golden Liberal Opportunity".

They arrested him for an honest mistake, time for him to get payed.

He needs to get himself a smart lawyer, then sue the airport. That's right sue the airport. They allowed an armed person through a security check point. They put every passenger in that terminal in danger. They allowed a potential air disaster through their security check point, and endangered the passengers of that mans flight, as well as that man himself.

Now, the fact that he was the one with the gun, that's just a minor issue. It doesn't matter. If they let HIM through, how many OTHERS have they let through?

And since there is potentially OTHERS who made it through security, because he has already proved it CAN and quite possibly DOES happen, what justifies the airport in singling him out?

Is he black? Or gay? Or, heaven forbid, arabic? Depending on his status and if he falls within one of liberal America's PC protected races, we could be talking about not only a lawsuit for reckless endangerment against the airport, but discrimination as well!

Hell, he plays his cards right, not only will he get his gun back, but he'll own that airport!

That poor guy. Does the right thing and gets in trouble. Good grief. No good deed goes unpunished.
