Rhino: Hey, let's keep the profanity down!
Freecers: HUH?
Rhino: I mean it! No swearing!
DoctorDoom: That eliminates all speech for most of the forum members.

Paraphrased from Angels in the Outfield, of course.

Seriously though, although some colorful language may sometimes be helpful in stressing some points, I would appreciate it if we could tone it down a bit. It seems to be getting very prevalent lately, and I really don't want it to become a norm around here, and that includes creative spelling as a veiled masking attempt. I'm not talking about an outright prohibition, but rather requesting a little restraint. Thanks for your cooperation.

I see this forum quickly heading for the P-C pile. I say leave well enough alone before all who are left are the silver-tongued wonders. This is not veiled language.

We have plenty of colorful posters, all with magnetic personalities. I think it would be a complete waste to see this forum pander to the P-C crowd and the sensitive skins. The draw it has will disappear in an instant.

I dont consider myself thin skinned and I am NOT a member of the PC Crowd, however I dont think it is that much to ask that the language be toned down bit. Particularly when it is being used by the children that are on this board.

The first part is for others to decide. About "children" posting other than school language, I believe the registration age should be raised to 18. That is for the owner to decide. I do know what will become of the forum if the P-C crowd and the tenderskins, and those concerned about children here, get to run the board. I still say, the way it was before the thread that started it all, was great. I know if this bothered me like it does you, I would go somewhere else, or go about my non-internet routine.

Toning down the language is not P-C, but rather consider that it is Biblical, for that is what it truly is.

This is a great board, that is why I have been a member of it for years. The recent coarsning of the language concerns me, So I objected. Excuse me but I dont turn tail and run because of something that offends me anymore than you do. Instead I work to correct the problem as I see it.

Good. But the next whine I foresee is another sugar posterior whining about the ethnic and racial joking going on around here. Political correctness has never helped anything good, but it has helped to turn many Americans into blathering progressives.

After that, I foresee members or defenders, or both, of the homosexual society, clamoring for the word "gay" to be used exclusively to describe homosexuals of both sexes. And also, some will call for the okay of the language word "gender" to differentiate the sexes.

I reiterate. I would not fix something that is not broken, but it's your property.<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
