Out of the above, predict who will be president by popular vote in Novemeber.

Not who you want.... but who think is most likely to get it at this point.

That's like predicting who'll fart next. You're not sure who will, but you can bet it'll stink.

I think it will be McCain and it will be because of states like mine with a large democrat base that isn't super liberal like the current democratic candidates.

I think it is gonna be Obama. People are getting caught up in his cinderella rise to the top. And Americans have a thing for fairytales.

As sorry as I am to say it I think there are still too many racists out there for Obama to win ... again because of states like mine that have elected Robert Byrd every year since Eve bit the apple. Not that I am sorry Obama won't win ... I just wish it was for a different reason, like he's a liberal.

^^^I hear ya Suz.

My biggest problem with him.... is that I like him. I mean his personality, of course. I hate his politics and his church. But those aside he seems like a genuinely nice guy.

I checked my calendar and it seems it will likely be George W. Bush until at least January of 2009.

Hillary. I called it elsewhere and I'm calling it now. It'll be close if it's McCain, but I think she'll edge it out.

I'm predicting Hillary. I think she and Bill will do everything they can, including rigging it if they have to, to win the election.

It's what all politicians do... the better they are at charm, the longer they stay in office.

In the end, he is one of the most corrupt politicians in Washington. His smile may be good, but he is a rotten socialist to the core... and when a person is that bad, I have a really hard time pushing that to the side and appreciating them for their nicer qualities.

As for the original intent of this thread... it is my belief that if the GOP does not nominate Ron Paul, you all better be well prepared for Clinton Deux, national healthcare and gun grabbing... including Clinton being in a position of power to benefit from such abominations as the Patriot Act.

I like his message. I've read his book. One of my main issues is that this country is being torn apart because Democrats and Republicans can't come together, like they did in -1950s, and decide what is best for the nation. Obama believes we should pull together.

If he weren't a liberal, I'd support him, but he is, so it sucks. But, if I were to live with a Democrat in office, I would choose him.

I'm predicting McCain. Against Hillary Clinton he just has more appeal to voters. Vs. Obama people would choose him as "better the devil you know...".

Not even my pick... this is just how I bet it will turn out.

As much as I hate to admit it, Hitlery. Rest assured though, I won't be voting for her.

I predict that McCain wins and wins comfortably against Hitlery; he's in a dogfight against Obama as that is where the excitement is. Even Hitlery's own people view working for her much like we view a colonoscopy.

over until January

Whoever McCain goes against he'll win. He has the Independents (and a few democrats if Hillary is the DEM nominee). And there are people in and outside the GOP who hate Hillary that much. If it's McCain vs Obama then we might have a race. (no pun intended)

I think it will be Obama. His belief that HE can bring the country together is the most asinine message I've ever heard come out of a candidate. Either he's stupid or a liar. I'm betting he is stupid. Or, he's still enjoying that blow he's used all his life.

Here we go:

1) The Clintons will beg/borrow/steal the Demo nomination

2) A substantial part of the Obama movement crosses over

3) Huckabee picks up the GOP nomination

4) He wins by a nose.

I predicted Hillary in a great departure from my earlier predictions in part because I can't believe she's made it this far. Also, with McCain now declared a frontrunner, and with Edwards out of the race, the tide seems to go evermore further in the downward spiral.

With Giuliani out of the race, I imagine many of those votes will go to McCain. People supported Giuliani because he is perceived as strong on defense, and that's McCain's most conservative credential. Not to mention, Giuliani also supports the big-government ethanol plan, funding for embryo farming, and he wants illegal aliens to become citizens for the sake of bringing in more tax revenues, which is my theory as to why so many politicians favor amnesty.

So McCain will get the support of the establishment, the moderates, the illegal alien symps, and the log cabin RINOs, but the rock-ribbed conservatives will finally get up and spit in his face.

Hillary and Edwards are almost identical in class warfare rhetoric, and they both supported the war before flopping out of it. In other words, I think the Edwards crowd will be more drawn to Hillary because they weren't taken hostage by Obama's media stardom.

While that does make sense, I think the hip-hop generation will be mobilized for getting a black man into the WH. It'll be glitzy marketing that helps that along....that, and apologetic white folks who want people to believe they're not racists.

Suzie

True, but while those folks talk a big game they are not historically active in actually going out and voting. They say that is why he lost New Hampshire. College kids said they would vote for him over Hillary ... but never really did it.

If you honestly believe this, you are kidding yourself. Obama supporters would never support Schmuckabee... they are much too atheistic.

She claims to be an awful cook.

Favorite food to cook: I’m a lousy cook, but I make pretty good soft scrambled eggs.

(She's probably a decent one in reality, but the feminists wouldn't approve of a woman spending any time cooking for men anyways)

A good number of Obama supporters are from the black portion of the "evangelical vote"; there is data that suggests that this (no Obama for demo's= more votes for Huckabee) is EXACTLY what would happen.

The NAACP was trying to get it taken down.

On the off-chance that McVain should win the Oval Office --iffy at best, then The Republican Party and Conservatism as we know it is lost for at least a generation. He will destroy us.

If Hillary wins, then the nation is lost for two generations, and it will probably take another Civil War, spilled blood on our own soil to take the nation back.

What the choice?

We Texans probably won't have a huge impact. I expect us to go Republican, even if Daffy Duck heads the ticket with an "R" behind his name.

A lot of the rest of you folks have some hard choices to make.

I despise John McCain to the very depths of my soul, and that would be true no matter what he had behind his name --D or R. I can only think of two people in politics whom I hate more: Hill and Bill.

I just don't like McCain. He's a mean, nasty, fould mouthed little man. He's also a liar.

You'll notice that I haven't mentioned Osamabama as a part of the equation.

You don't seriously think Hillary is going to allow this upstart to usurp her rightful ascention to the throne, do you?

No, no.

The only hope that Republicans actually have is that Hillary and Bill will so divide the Democrats that between them, they destroy their party before McCain has a chance to do it to the Republican party.
