Don't be silly, Suzie - I never said that. They just have no reason to live.
Another funny that'll be lost on you because all you care about is military might, despite the warnings of our Founding Fathers:
If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.
- James Madison
Observe good faith and justice toward all nations. Cultivate peace and harmony with all.
- George Washington
Government even in its best state is but a necessary evil.
- Thomas Paine (Common Sense)
Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism.
- George Washington
Over grown military establishments are under any form of government inauspicious to liberty, and are to be regarded as particularly hostile to republican liberty.
- George Washington
Just to list a few. The real shame, is you have confused dedication to military service with real patriotism, without pausing to realize that the military can be and has been used as pawns by the political hacks running things. And, rather than tossing out few lines of rote pablum, maybe think about it? We've been sold down the creek by those parading as 'patriots' who have lifted not a finger to enter combat and others whose falsely claimed 'war' records have been used to get them elected to high office. Let's include two Bushes, Two Clintons, one Obama, one Kerry, one Romney and one McCain in that list. Let's see, that covers about the past two decades, doesn't it?
You call yourselves conservatives while allowing the ruling class to lead you into poverty and slavery. Maybe we should ask God to appoint a King for us? We could call him Saul. He'd be tall, handsome and Oooooh so, Presidential!

- George Washington...It never hurts to be reminded of the incredible wisdom of our founding fathers - Or reminded of how far our government has strayed from the precepts that this nation was founded under...
Those precepts are what our military has fought and died for over the generations...
And today, a conman, the very type of Tyrannt that Washington fought to free us from, has the nerve to arrogantly claim that he is the champion of that same military... It will be this nation's eternal shame if our troops overseas finish their mission only to come home victoriously to a ONE-PARTY SOCIALIST STATE...

I was not referring to Ron Paul... With all due respect to you, GG, I know you have an unwaivering dedication to Mr Paul - But Paul is not even a ripple in the pond anymore...
The threat and the tyrannt I was referring to is John McCain... I didn't know I was being so subtle - apologize for that if I was...
Let it be known in no uncertain terms I believe that John McCain is the biggest threat to America in this race...! He is the Democrat Mole that has usurped and conned the Republican party... There... How's that - Better?

Ron Paul has none of that wisdom, he's not even worth debating.
You're being ridiculous. Ron Paul has been quoting and following those men and their precepts for 30 years. He's among very few elected officials to even be aware of those ideals and even fewer who intend to practice them.
He was one of only THREE Republican Representatives to back Ronald Reagan's candidacy and he lead the Reagan delegation into the Convention at Reagan's request. Please don't let the MSM lull you into believing their lies against the Right. Ditto when it comes to this corrupted Republican administration.
Wouldn't it be nice to have our military personnel at home rather than in harm's way at the behest of a power-crazed tyrant and military-industrial complex puppet? Or, like McCain, do you wish to seem them perpetually, (and unnecessarily), deployed to foreign shores? Maybe it's time you figure out that Ron Paul, and his supporters, care more about the well-being of our country and especially our active and veteran military than all the tall-talking DC administrators and their supporters?

As for ponds and ripples...
Please, please, please. :listen: I am a local campaign chairman for Ron Paul. I have information that it would be unwise and premature to share here for several reasons. But let me put it like this: Wait 'til next Wednesday. Real change is on the wind and there's a few breezes of hope comin' our way. And Ron Paul is not giving up because his supporters are not giving up. And there is NO talk of 3rd party anything.
A brokered convention in September, on the other hand, could be a beautiful thing for us all, including Senator Thompson.
But you did not hear it from me....

As for the threadjack, I have no idea why you found it necessary to mention Ron Paul in post #13. It certainly wasn't my plan. He has been the favorate of the left for years and years. Remember Kerry considering him for VP? Lieberman, Kerrys VP decided not to accept any invitation from McCain???
John McCain was waltzed out as the natural choice by the media and when nobody wanted him, he drifted into oblivian. But all of a sudden with a media hype amplified with glowing endorsments from the left, conservatives were attracted to him like moths to light. Its was sickening to watch.
He and that Lindsey Graham obstructed the Presidents efforts for effective interrogation methods and now he runs as if he were General Patton.
I think he would spend his time yucking it up with the elite old boy network not taking any bold action.
I was mistaken in my belief that Rudy would win the nomination. Really missed the mark. But I stilll like Rudy for his originality and leadership from the only real issue that is important for me in this race, and that is the war on terror. While I liked Rudys personality and skills, I didn't agree with all his positions. But with McCain, he has none of the leadership of Rudy and a weak view about what is effective with winning the War.
The left will eat him for breakfast, pulling out and putting on the table, all the covert deals he went along with in his career. His relationship to the Keating scandle, what really happened when he was a POW, etc, etc.
Romney can win this if the people wake up.

I personally don't see a brokered convention at this point, but the possibility is always there - As I have said many times, we have a full 50 states who must all speak before this race is over... And political fortunes rise and fall with regularity in this race... Anything can happen - in both parties...

Government even in its best state is but a necessary evil.
- Thomas Paine (Common Sense)
Over grown military establishments are under any form of government inauspicious to liberty, and are to be regarded as particularly hostile to republican liberty.
- George Washington
As I recall, Mr. Washington was a General in the Revolutionary War. A statement of concern of a potential military hegemony shouldn't be used against any military action or involvement, regardless of context.
"If we desire to avoid insult, we must be able to repel it; if we desire to secure peace, one of the most powerful instruments of our rising prosperity, it must be known, that we are at all times ready for War."
"To be prepared for War is one of the most effectual means of preserving peace."
"War - An act of violence whose object is to constrain the enemy, to accomplish our will."
All of these, too, came from George Washington (http://http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/g/george_washington.html).
As for Thomas Paine, he also said these words:
"Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property... Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them."
"He that would make his own liberty secure must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself."
"These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman."
"Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it."
Source (http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/t/thomas_paine.html)
Lest we forget, al Qaeda attacked us on 9/11, protected by Afghanistan's Taliban.
Iraq's Saddam Hussein provided support for terrorist organizations and repeatedly violated the terms of the cease-fire which followed the first Gulf War in 1993, including firing on the U.S. aircraft which were enforcing its terms. He also refused to allow inspections and harassed the weapons inspectors, giving rise to the legitimate suspicion by U.S., Israeli, British, French and German intelligence agencies that he continued to harbor WMDs like those he had previously used. His refusal to cooperate with UN-mandated weapons inspections, his continued attacks on US aircraft, and his continued support for terrorist agencies such as al Qaeda provided more than sufficient cause for invasion.
After the highly-successful invasion of Iraq, leftover Baathists allied with terrorists being assisted by Iran's and Syria's governments. The Sunni minority (which had held a favored place of power) feared loss of their position and reprisals from the formerly-oppressed Shiite majority, and many of them offered tacit or explicit support to the Baathists and terrorists. This made the mission more difficult than the US government had expected, but no less just.
The mission, though difficult, has been a just one and a necessary one. It remains a legitimate use of U.S. military force.

You would be a hell of a football coach there garlic!
Halftime pep talk by garlic:
Garlic: Come on guys, wouldn't you rather forfeit and stay safe in this warm locker room so nobody gets an injury.
Team Captain: But coach we were down early because of a lousy game plan but we switched QB's and we are now winning and have momentum!
Garlic: No! Besides the athletic department is spending too much money on your equipment and I'm thinking about not playing any more away games.
Team Captain: How come we can't go on the road any more?
Garlic: Think of how bad the other team would feel if we beat them on their home turf.
Team Captain: Screw you coach! We can win this with or without you!
Garlic: Well I'm just going to heckle you from the sidelines; and I hope you lose!
Team Captain: Whatever! Only 3% of the school likes you anyway!!! :rotflmbo:

Bank Collections Officer: Hey team, we are tired of lending you $3 billion a day that isn't getting paid back... you aren't spending the money wisely, and you even bought all new equipment for the opposing team after you destroyed it all in a drunken brawl.
Sorry to say but we are also going to repo your stadium since you can't make the payments anymore. Really, our hands are tied! We do promise that we will keep your dirty little secret, that you have been stealing school money to make the payments on your ever-growing interest only loan... it's the least we can do.
Shame you all had such a great run, but you know what they say... and we have depositors to answer to too you know! Really sorry about this and whatnot... but please don't forget to hit the lights on your way out.

Why can't the Mods just delete the Highjack posts and be done with it?
Better yet, why doesn't the Owner just change the name of the site to "The Fantasy Footpaul Site."
The whole place has been highjacked by loons. Might just as well turn it over to them.
There are signs all over the zoo that read: "Don't fed The Monkeys."

Does it really matter at this point?
Every thread that contains the name McCain will turn into a bash session, just as every thread that contains Huckabee. We need a "special" forum like we have for Paul. Maybe a GOP cage match forum! That way when we get done destroying those two we can then focus all our guns on Romney and convince everyone what a POS he is too. Then when all is said and done and the returns come rolling in on Election night 2008 we can all digest those Bob Dole results.
Obama/Edwards 62%
Romney/Who Cares 37%
Other 1%
But at least with Obama we will have complete closure on the country, an absolution if you will!!
