What would happen if conservatives sat this election out? Would future politicians contimplating higher office be a bit more carefull at taking liberal positions? I think they might.

..I was mistaken in my belief that Rudy would win the nomination. Really missed the mark....Well you supported the candidate you believed in... Giuliani would probably be the front runner today if he has not made some strategic errors in his campaign... You cannot ignore 5 primaries and focus all your efforts on a single one to jetison you back into the race... It was a really bad strategy... Im suprised he went for that plan - he's not a newbie to politics... Maybe it was driven by his budget...

I don't know. He is original and I like it about him but it was ineffective. He showed he didn't have some compulsive hunger for the job. Same thing with Thompson.

As for Romney, he comes off as strong to me. Unlike McCain who shows a real hunger for the position of President. Romney has a quick wit and comfortable with dealing with the problems coming down the road. I don't agree with everything he says, but he is a politician, he lives in that world. I think the one thing that got me to liking him was a documentry on him after college. He went to France and for over a year spent all his time like 12 hours a day knocking on doors, doing what he believed in, asking people to consider how God could change their lives. I am not religious in that sense, but I admired his self discipline and competitiveness. He would stay at it for months on end signing up only 2 or three and he kept doing it, devoted, keeping a smile on his face. He was at the top of the board on every contest that was held for all who were overseas in the competition. All those who went there and knew him held him in high regard.

I think he is believable. He is a winner and America would be better off with that kind of yankee optimism.

Romney has a quick wit and comfortable with dealing with the problems coming down the road...Well like I told someone else here recently, he didn't become a Billionaire, the manager of the Salt Lake Olympics, and Gov. of Mass. by being slow-witted, lazy, or timid... He was never my first choice, but we play the hand that is dealt us, and I'm growing more comfy with him as this race progresses... No doubt if he wins the Whitehouse he'll disappoint us at some time or another - I haven't seen a President yet that didn't disappoint me on some issue... But he's our last chance at holding the party to Conservative values...

As for Giuliani, I know people think I was being sarcastic when I said it before (well maybe I was a little:D), but in all honesty I would still support Giuliani for head of FEMA... The one talent he has demonstrated that he has is the ability to manage disaster cleanup... After 9/11 Bush should have snatched him up for that job... I believe the Katrina situation would have been a whole different ballgame if Giuliani had been in charge...
