McCain embraces anti-Catholic bigot Hagee
From http://johnseilerblogs.com/?p=551
Ron Paul got into some trouble when some right-wing racists backed him (http://www.outsidethebeltway.com/archives/2007/10/ron_paul_supported_by_racist_western_men_/) even though he repudiated them.
But John McCain has received a pass, so far, for not only being endorsed by an anti-Catholic bigot, but for embracing him. His name is Pastor John Hagee.
In The Wanderer, a conservative Catholic newspaper (not online), Christopher Manion reported:McCain’s campaign consultants are as expensive as they are cutthroat. They undoubtedly did the math and decided that there weren’t enough Catholic voters to worry about . Let us pray that there are enough stalwart Catholics there to raise a storm about it now.

Oh, and what does McCain buddy Hagee say about Catholics? As the League noted in its 1997 Annual Report (http://www.catholicleague.org/annualreport.php?year=1997&id=37):
<DIR>[I]San Antonio, TX – The league viewed and protested a video produced and distributed by John Hagee Ministries, which cited certain "historical facts" designed to link the Catholic Church with Hitler’s program of genocide in Germany. In its apparent attempt to drive a wedge between Catholics and Jews, the video, Southern Steps: Jerusalem and Bible Prophecy, ignored statements by various Jewish leaders citing the Catholic Church for its efforts to save Jews from the Nazis during World War II.
</DIR>Other examples of his bigotry and ahistorical rants are here (http://www.catholicleague.org/catalyst.php?year=2007&month=June&read=2264).
