Okay not quite..... but I do need emergency surgery on them. I will go under tomorrow. So please pray for me. This will be my first surgery procedure EVER and I am very nervous.
My wisdom teeth are impacted and causing me alot of pain. I will be on pain meds, so in the event stupid crap ends up here from me just ignore it.

When I had my wisdom teeth taken out they just pumped me up with novacane. Your's must be bad if they'e gonna put you out.
Ask for Tylenol 3 with Codeine after the surgery. :thumb: Trust me. You'll feel no pain. But you're typing will look like this: Axdewocnekiwoqnceoqcneoqcnio.....
And it'll take you 30 minutes just to do that. :roar:
You'll be fine. :thumb:

They had to do general anesthesia with me cuz Lidocaine doesn't work too well on me (they haven't used Novocaine in many, many years).
And Tylenol 3 does absolutely nothing for me. I could be taking vitamin pills. Percocet is the only oral painkiller that works on me, and not all that well for that matter. Now, IV Demerol or Dilaudid on the other hand.....

I am in alot of pain right now and they have not even cut me open yet. I got pain meds from my dentist today. They may have to knock me out or drug me up really good.
But like Rhino I am very resistant to pain meds. If I get a headache I need 4 500mg ibuprophen.

I'm 44 now. Throughout my late 20s and early 30s I often wondered why I never got any wisdom teeth, when everyone else had (I thought). The dentist would say, if you don't have them now, you never will. In my late 30s the dentist found one, but it was only visible by X-ray, at the time. So he recommended just taking it out. So I had it done. I don't remember much about that though...

I was given IV Dilaudid once:thumb:. It hurt like crazy when they gave it but within 15 seconds I was wacked out. Great stuff.
Ask for versed. Once they give it you will count down from 10. I have never seen anyone get past 8. Now you are still awake but you remember nothing.

I had all four out at once. It really sucks. I the third day was the most painful for me I believe. Also, the pain meds made me throw up that night after I had them removed.

Won't that put a hole in your stomach...Eventually, yes. That's why they started giving me Voltaren instead. The ibuprofen (Motrin) was causing wicked heartburn and eating away the lining of my stomach. They kept putting me in the hospital because they thought I might be having heart attacks, but it was my stomach all along.

You didn't happen to be in the army, did you Rhino? I know that, at least in the 80s and 90s, they handed Motrin out like it was candy, and it wasn't the small dosage stuff we get in the stores.

Ok so I am a freakin' trooper. People were coming out of there stumbling all over the place. I didn't ever stutter.
It is gonna hurt big time. I will be miserable. But at least my head is on straight.

They gave me weak drugs though... I know I need something WAY stronger.
I also forgot to get a doctor's note for my teacher. I guess I'll have to show him my stitches.
The doctor was funny though, he wanted to reschedule for saturday but I insisted on doing it today.
He said "Are you sure, you can get an old man today or a young man on Saturday. Which will it be?" I said I'd take him today.
But of course.... I can always give CM a call on saturday;).... just kidding.

I had lousy teeth my whole life. Told the Army to yank and gimme falsies and they kept saying, "You're too young! SAVE those teeth!" So for 19 years I put up with them saving teeth that weren't worth saving. Finally, just before that last dentist took them all out, he looked at me pityingly. "Such a shame," he said. I said, "Doc, I guess you've never suffered serious dental pain. It's like nothing else. I've had it my whole damn adult life and my whole damn Army career because guys like you thought it was such a shame to pull my damn teeth. It ain't no shame! Pull them and gimme some teeth that don't hurt!"
He did, and I've not had a toothache since. That was 1989, almost 20 years, and I can only say: I was right all along and those damn Army dentists were fulla shit. They made me suffer 20 years when I coulda free from that awful, grotesque pain that bad teeth inflict. And from the beginning, no one knew I had falsies unless I told them. Nowadays they do such a good job that often you just can't tell.

Poor DF. Had I been you I may pulled them out myself.
