Gov. 'Blunt Talk' Rendell (and other topics)
Tuesday, February 12, 2008
By Tony Norman, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
<!-- end story_image_box_size_1 --> So many topics, so little space:
Gov. Ed "Don't Call Me 'Fast Eddie' " Rendell met with the editorial board of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette last week to talk about his latest budget. But before turning the meeting over to his number-crunchers, our voluble governor weighed in on the primary fight between Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama and what the Illinois senator could expect from the good people of Pennsylvania at the polls:
"You've got conservative whites here, and I think there are some whites who are probably not ready to vote for an African-American candidate," he said bluntly. Our eyes only met briefly, perhaps because the governor wanted to spare the only black guy in the room from feeling self-conscious for backing an obvious loser. "I believe, looking at the returns in my election, that had Lynn Swann [2006 Republican gubernatorial candidate] been the identical candidate that he was --well-spoken [note: Mr. Rendell did not call the brother "articulate"], charismatic, good-looking -- but white instead of black, instead of winning by 22 points, I would have won by 17 or so."

Now that is racist.
Conservatives will be the first to vote for a candidate the represents them best regardless of color. Dems are voting for Barack in light of his race cause if he were white.... his record would be called into question and people would openly cite that he has very little experience. But he is black, so they wont say that or else according to their own rules, that would racist. But it reality, a place that only conservatives inhabit, we know that is just honesty. The man has little experience and hasn't done anything special since having really cute kids.
Mr. Obama is liberal and that is the only reason conservatives arn't ready for him, we arn't ready to change our core political beliefs on the basis of race.
Get real dude.

It's racist of us conservatives to not vote for a liberal.

I've said from day one that the nation as a whole will not vote a black man with a Muslim background whose middle name is Hussein into the White House.
If that's racist, then so be it.
I wouldn't vote for a white man with a Muslim background whose middle name is Hussien, and it wouldn't matter if he had an "R" behind his name and I thought he was the most conservative person on the planet.
Muslim background.
Hussien.
Forget it.

I'd be easily willing to vote for JC Watts or Alan Keyes. This guy is probably secretly racist, so he feels that he has to accuse us conservatives of being racist.

Ed Rendell thinks conservatives won't vote for a black man.
No, actually, THIS conservative won't vote for a black liberal. Nor a white liberal. Nor a Republican liberal. Nor an Asian-, Indian-, Hispanic-, Hindu-, female-, "Native American"-, etc. etc. etc. liberal. I won't vote for a liberal, period. End of story.

A real man—black, white, red, yellow, green or purple—is not a liberal. Come to think of it, the same could be said of a real woman.

Ed, you are a dipshit! Yes, I would vote for a black man for POTUS, just not Obama since I don't agree with him on one single issue. You can call me racist if you want but I don't trust someone with the middle name of Hussein.

Here we go. It looks like Obama is going to beat HillBilly, so the 'rat establishment is breaking out the race card.

I liked when Frank Luntz asked a group of Obama supporters if they could name one accomplishment; in between crickets chirping one focus group volunteer raised his hand and said "He's black". As Romney said, neither Hillary or Obama has ever run a corner store. 'nuff said.

Fast Eddie Rendell is a complete idiot! Dude's limo has been clocked at over 100 MPH on the PA Turnpike more than once.
He needs to do a little checking in his own party about race! N.H. got the polls screwed because the self-loathing white Libs lied in the exit polls about who they voted for! They couldn't vote for a black man inside the booth but they could when they got outside to an exit poll worker. What a bunch of pathetic hypocrites!!

Interesting choice of words here...first he says "conservative whites" then "some whites," so did he mean they are one and the same, or does he mean moderate/liberal whites in the 2nd reference?
IOW, obviously white conservatives won't vote ubama, but probably moderate/liberal whites won't either, so vote clintoon b/c ubama would lose in Nov!

Its just the opposite. The only reason Obama is doing well is because he's black. And its not just the 90% of blacks who voted for him in Virginia either. White man's burden is driving this entire charade.
It is a new kind of racism. A racism in reverse. A noble racism where everyone can slap each other on the back and where every white pretentious liberal can claim that they were a part of some kind of make believe 'revolution' of skin tones.
Basically, the Obama phenomenon is what affirmative action looks like when its applied to presidential politics. Take a C student, give them an A. Put a gold star on their forehead because their tan is darker than the kids from Mendocino County, even if his homework got eaten by the dog.
If Obama wasn't black and his name was Robert, if Obama had straight hair and smaller hands, he would be just another boring white guy. Ed Rendell, like most lefties, thinks the only kind of racism is hooded and burning crosses. If we could be so lucky. At least then the racism wasn't mainstream. And it was kind of quaint, innocent. The hate was laughable, deranged, isolated and perfectly cliched.
Now this new racism comes with prepackaged appluase, media boosterism and messianic dreams borne by atheism's trash. The world is indeed upside down and I don't think the left will ever get what MLK was talking about when he said 'the content of one's character'. It will always revolve around melanin counts in a few clammy areas and gender quotas. Probably until the last hippie dies, will we be free of their pretentious nonsense. Obama is merely a victim of his own pride and their delusions.

Very well said my eloquent friend. Musta gradjeeated from the same skool, because "dipshit" was always considered the epitome of eloquence. The period at the end of a sentence. At least in my book!
I think the other word was "phlegm"
I also don't trust someone with the middle name of Hussein.....or the first name of Barrack.....or the last name of Obama!

Although he has since fallen out of favor with Conservatives,
Colin Powell was once highly admired, and especially popular amongst white southern conservative men.
In 1996 he could have mounted a strong challenge to Bill Clinton, but chose not to run, much to the disappointment of white Conservatives everywhere.

It's racist of us conservatives to not vote for a liberal.
:yeahthat:
White conservatives would happily vote for a capable black candidate . . . along as that candidate is a conservative; only Democrats vote race and gender.

Like Walter Williams, Larry Elders, Cornell West, Thomas Sowell, Clarence Thomas, Shelby Steele, Alan Keyes and I can go on and on. Any of these people would be a far better choice, for the sake of conservatism, than McCain or Hucka shuck. Notice what color these men are? I didn't either because they are just men and conservatives with common sense and moral fortitude not black, african-american, negro,colered......just men. Any of them would get my vote against what we have running today.

I think what he meant was that when it comes down to the wire, even white liberals won't vote for a black man.
I don't care if they are racists, stormfront members, KKK or the Rotary. If they vote against Barak Hussein Obama, that's good enough. They can vote against him for any reason at all. Good, bad, indifferent. Anything that keeps that communist cretin out of leadership will do and he F**ked Che flag out of the oval office.
So, come one come all racists. Go into that voting booth, look around, make sure no one is watching you engaging in a forbidden act and vote for the white guy.
Then go home and when thankfully Obama loses, you can rail against the racist system that wouldn't give the guy a chance cause he's black.

I have a golden lab named Lucy that likes to hunt for mice under the snow in the backyard. She has exactly the same executive experience as Obama, Hillary and McCain combined... that being zero. When I listen to Obama's speeches - it's nothing but platitudes about "change", "working together" and "fairness"... which is even less meaningful then when Lucy barks 'cause she needs to go out.
At least my dog has a purpose for barking at the door... Obama has yet to explain his purpose, but something tells me it's a lot like Lucy's.
God help US.
