Another pollster telling us what the outcome is before we, the people, vote... If we paid any real credence to these croaking frogs, there would be no point in voting at all... We may as well let Mr Rassmussin choose our government...

How did WV get 5 now? Heck I live here and don't know what the heck is going on anymore.

How did WV get 5 now? Heck I live here and don't know what the heck is going on anymore. They get 5 because Rassmussin says they get 5... Don't question it... Just take it on faith...
You're just a common citizen - an asset of the all-seeing Federal Government... Such decisions will be made at the lofty heights of the smokey backrooms - They are beyond your understanding, and asking such troublesome questions just takes you above your assigned place in the big scheme...

Apparently they are right. If you look here at Rule 10 there are some type of "District delegates" that are elected during the primary. http://www.wvgopconvention.com/content/img/f40884/Convention_Rules.pdf
Big deal, there aren't enough to undo what they have already decided for us.

Am I the only who thinks we should dump this system (along with this delegates business) and just go for the popular vote and simple majority wins?

Can you imagine what the founding fathers would say of this government and political vines that have taken over? Im pretty confident in saying that Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, Adams, Jay, Henry, and the rest would be organizing another war for independance from this tyranny that has swallowed this nation...
Its times like these that makes me wish the people of Alabama had the courage to declare independence from the United States...:sulk:

The only problem with the majority vote is that people in the big city areas tend to be more liberal and we would probably get stuck with whatever those people want because there are more of them.

Oh Im not attacking the Electoral College system... I'm being cynical over the fact that we believe that the system on the books is actually working, when in fact we have no idea what the tyrants in Washington are doing to us or what laws they have passed behind our backs that have made us slaves to their insider games...

I would be happy if they would just let me actually vote and have it mean something when I do.

I think if we got rid of things like the electoral college we would see a bigger distribution invotes amongst party lines in all areas nation wide.

and that would truly be the end of states having an impact on anything
new york city alone would negate the votes of several red states, large states get the influence their large populations deserve through house representatives. you could make a case more more redistricting and increasing that number, but keep the college
just imagine a dem winning the electoral college and mccain winning the popular vote, that would be a hoot

I hope you are the only one Prez.....I don't want the lib ridden coasts of this nation deciding for the rest of us in between. It's already bad enough with the individual states being led around by the nose by the big lib cities.
If we were to have it the way you are suggesting, there would be no point in having anyone inland of the coastal states voting....we'd just have to "accept" whatever the coasts foist upon us!

Suzie; take a breath dear! WV has 5 Electoral College votes in the November election... You will actually get to vote in that one!! :smirky: I believe the only two states that divide the delegates the same as this crazy primary is Nebraska and Maine.
Oh, and brother Laz; I posted this JUST FOR YOU because I know how much you truly adore polls! :rotflmbo:
I'm asking for someone who disagrees with what Scott Rasmussen has said! Which states do you think he is wrong/right on!
I think there are many issues not being factored into these polls! Will it be Hitlery or Obama? Does Hitlery disenfranchise Black voters with the super delegates? Will conservatives quit their freakin' hand wringing over giving us McCain and vote for him.
I have a number of disagreements with his assessment at this point!
In a McCain vs Hitlery match-up:
No way Virginia is a toss-up
No way Ohio leans 'Rat
Arizona is no longer safely GOP
Pennsylvania and Michigan is in play more this year than any other year since Reagan.
In a McCain vs Obama match-up:
We could lose Virginia
We will lose Nevada and Missouri

Good to know I at least get something. I believe WV will go for McCain in the general, I think McCain will be the only one on the ticket by the time the primary is here.. I have no idea about the others.
