Ok so this is a "getting to know you" excerise.
You can ask anybody nearly any question you'd like. No questions about real full names, or addresses, no ss #, blood types..... chit like that  . Point being... be reasonable. Make sure you indicate specific people.
Anyone can choose to not answer... just put n/a for the question so it is not asked again.
So go ahead shoot. I will be the first to tell all.

NYC with the ability to carry a gun openly.
I love where I live. I have everything I need or could want in one place all within a reasonable distance. I also get four seasons, and get to meet lots of different kinds of people.

I'm single now. There's a dance tomorrow and I was about to go out with girl that was in High School but I ended up getting rejected because someone beat me to it. But she would've gone with me if she hadn't been asked out already. She's 15 and I'm 14. I'm that good.

Yes. They didn't like the way I was living my life before I sobered up. Didn't care to have a drug addicted alcoholic messin' around on a nuclear sub as an electronics technician...with delusions of becoming a SEAL. :D
Gee, go figure...but, it is one of the few regrets I have. It is also the reason I take any attack upon our military quite personally. Though I never served, I WANTED to and my heart is with everyone who has, is and will serve our country.

OUTSTANDING answer: very realistic!
So let's change it up: using famous people as the MODEL for someone you would want to date (personality, intelligence, looks, etc.), who appeals to you most. In other words, what clone of a famous person would you want to date?
For me, the following people come to mind. You might notice a similarity amongst them: Hedy Lamarr (50's), Lee Meriwether (60's), and Jennifer O'Neill (70's).

I got here late on this thread. So many questions so I'll answer some:

Valeri Bertinelli.

George S. Patton, Jr.
Desktop or Laptop. And where are you (when at home) do you post from. Bedroom, livingroom, etc...
Desktop in my office at home. I also post from a desktop at work during my breaks.
what is your desired profession or job?
If I could live comfortably doing it on my own, photography.
Who do you think was the worst POTUS of all time?
Jimmy Carter.
-Coke or Pepsi?

To everyone,
Has anyone wanted to join the military but couldn't, and why not?
Yes, but my mom got the nice little packet in the mail before I graduated high school, and we had a nice long chat... She made me promise to finish college, and get a degree before I made my final decision to sign up. Unfortunately, this meant I couldn't go on an ROTC scholarship, either... *sigh* I think she's hoping I get married and 'settle down' before then. Part of her reasoning is because I want to be in the Green Berets, like my uncle (also my namesake), when he died in 'Nam.
To all members:
Desktop or Laptop. And where are you (when at home) do you post from. Bedroom, livingroom, etc...
Laptop, hands down. I have a completely wireless home, so I could start posting from the living room, and for all you know, I'm finishing this post up from the pearly throne. (ok, so I'm actually sitting on my bed, lol)
Coke or Pepsi?
Always Coca Cola.

Neil Peart:
]Actually, based on Prez's description, Chicago would technically be a 60s act, since their first album, which was a major hit, was released in 1969. :smirky:
But you could consider them a 70s act as well, since that's when they REALLY hit it big. But 80s? That's stretching things like Goatse.
:moo: 16 & 17 were both released in the 1980s.

:moo: 16 & 17 were both released in the 1980s.True, but Prez said to go by the decade that the group got big in. And TM, that would make The Who a 1960s group.

That's easy.
I'd give my parents at least a million. Ditto the church I grew up in, and the churches I attended for a while a few years ago, and ditto the Christian school that is run by my parents' church.
I'd pay whatever it takes to get my truck in tip-top mechanical shape. (I love my old truck and wouldn't want a new one. It's an old beast, but I love it the way it is.)
I'd buy a few classic cars (`59 Cadillac coupe, `59 Superior Cadillac landau hearse, `74 Miller-Meteor (Cadillac) Criterion ambulance just like the one I used to own, and a couple of Imperials). I'd buy a huge piece of land and have a small house built in the middle of it, just big enough for my music, movies, books and photo albums, and I'd have a garage built for the cars previously mentioned. I'd then take a trip to New York City and spend a few weeks there, photographing historic and otherwise cool buildings all over the 5 boroughs (cathedrals, churches, courthouses, skyscrapers, etc.), and all the big old bridges too. Then visit some of the great museums, and eat at the Carnegie Deli in Manhattan. Then I'd visit McSorley's Old Ale House, also in Manhattan. Then I'd visit many of the parks in all 5 boroughs, and many of the cemeteries, like Green-Wood.
I almost forgot- I'd pay off my credit cards and then pay up my car insurance in advance for a year or so, if that seemed like a good idea at the time.
Then I'd probably give lots of money to the Salvation Army, and any other organizations that are reputable.
After all that, I'd invest the rest. Then I would get a job doing something part-time that I like, whether it pays well or not.
Here is my question to everyone: You have hit the lottery -- twice. Now you have literally hundreds of millions of dollars in cash available to you, with the taxes already paid.
What would you do with it? And what are your biggest worries?

Naomi Watts. She has class and doesn't sleep around with every guy she meets. After seeing her in A Painted Veil I started to respect her a lot more.

Put enough away to secure my future (and my daughter's) - $5 million or so - and then, give the rest away to those institutions/organizations/causes I deem fit to receive it. One of the first things I'd do is set up a foundation to increase teacher pay at the Christian school my daughter attends...maybe build them a high school.
But, the vast majority of it would be given away.
Biggest worry - my daughter being kidnapped because I now have enough to pay the ransom...and then going to prison because I tortured the PoS to death for taking her in the first place.

I never answered that question myself.
For me, 25% would immediately go to charity. (Much of it would be carefully-screened Christian charities, but some would be outside the church.)
I would set aside enough to provide a comfortable allowance for the rest of my life and to provide for any children I may still have, but that would be a small fraction of the money we are talking about.
With most of the rest, I would try to develop businesses that would use the money to make more money (to make the windfall sustainable), and that provide valuable services and employ people. Assuming that I can make the businesses profitable (lots of people try and fail), I will take 25% of my income from the businesses to set up charitable foundations, to create ongoing blessings for those in need and service to God.
Wisely investing and using the money is my biggest concern -- it will be a full-time job. Personal security and discerning true friends from users are others. Finally, losing sight of the fact that it is not any virtue of mine, but my good fortune that has given me the responsibility, keeping pride out, would be a difficult task.
My concerns for myself aren't as important as making sure that the money is used well. It would be a powerful tool, and one that is easy to squander or misuse.

LOL...The Crucible is the 54-hour straight field training exercise at the end of Boot Camp. Limited food and hardly no sleep. We're given physical and mental challenges to overcome. The final Crucible event is a ten mile march in full combat gear.

 That's how I felt about The Dukes of Hazzard. Denver Pyle must be spinning in his grave, because his TV role was assigned to that talentless, pot-smoking, overaged hippie, Willie Nelson. And Johnny Knoxville doesn't come close to the Luke Duke portrayed by Tom Wopat.

The only thing that movie had going for it was that the girl who played Daisy Duke, what's-her-name, was hot. They took a nice TV series and translated it to a trashy movie.

But if possible I'd rather just go back in time, and explore South Jersey with him. That would have been so much fun. I explore now, but he got to talk to people who knew people who lived in some of the ghost towns here. That's cool.
Coke or Pepsi? Pepsi, hands down, unless you're talking about the flavored versions. Then I really don't have a preference.
About Burgers vs. dogs, I have no preference there either.
A guilty pleasure? I dunno, maybe the fact that I like heavy metal, like Metallica for example.
