The violence began around noon when a 37-year-old man police described as a bystander was shot more than a dozen times by suspected gang members as he held the hand of a 2-year-old girl. He later died. The toddler, apparently picked up by a passerby and carried to safety, was not wounded. As the gunmen drove off, witnesses told police, several pedestrians who apparently knew the victim opened fire on the car.
Do you understand what's going on? In other parts of the country, can you imagine what an invasion is really, really like.
A man walking with his two year old is shot more than 12 times in a drive by in the middle of the day. Other people on the street, pull out their own carry weapons and start returning fire. DO YOU WANT THIS IN YOUR CITY? If you are spreading the word. This is the word. Read this article. There is an AUTOMATED phone system to notify parents that the schools in the area were in lockdown. That's how often violence happens here. Telling you that your kid's life is in danger is reduced to a robocall with a recorded message.
The murder rate will easily exceed all previous years. Putting that in print must have been a slip up. You know as well as I do, that crime statistics have been the subject of outright lies for years. Every year there is a drop in violent crime. It is an outright baldfaced lie. It has been going up for years and everyone is lying about it.
If you live in a city where the city is considering illegal friendly rules to accommodate the "immigrants", show them this and tell them you do not want this in your city.

A mid-day barrage of gunfire in Liberty City left one person dead and six wounded -- including an 18-month-old baby shot in the leg.
The dead man was identified as Brian Smith, 27, a local resident. Miami police say he was the intended victim. One of the injured was in critical condition.
Just before noon, Miami police were flooded with multiple calls that shots had been fired on the sidewalk and around a house at 1424 NW 51st St

And thanks to the mewling, puking, gutless, spineless liberals, the police are powerless to deal with the bastards. I say tell the cops, "You have carte blanche. Do it! Just remove the corpses when you're done. We don't want littering."
The ONLY way to deal with gangs is to annihilate them. Kill them on sight. Torch their hangouts and shoot whoever gets out. And if anyone whines, kill them, too.

To my knowledge it's illegal to have a weapon (loaded or not) in your car in CA unless secured in either a lock box or the trunk. Loaded is considered as having usable ammunition connected to the firearm in any way. If you have a Gun in the vehicle, it must be in either the trunk or in a lock box (if in the passenger compartment), or it is considered concealed. Under the seat or in the glove box is considered concealed. Clearly they were both loaded and not locked in either a lock box or the trunk (meaning they were concealed). Of course shooting someone isn't legal either, but as always with criminals (being criminals precisely because they ignore laws), neither of those laws seemed to matter.

Chief Bratton doesn't see it that way. In his press conference he made a point of announcing that the police were not going to go after gangs or their members and they were not targeted unless they committed a crime.
I agree with you. But there are 4000 cops in the LAPD and over 100,000 gang members and growing. LAPD can't get cops. They hire gang bangers who are unwilling to go up against their homies.

If they want to be safe they would join the Marines and head to Iraq where the chance of being killed is about one fourth as likely as LA County.
Take a look at this past week -
US Coalition deaths in Iraq 2/16/2008 through 2/21/2008 = 9
Population 27,499,638
Death Rate = 0.33 Deaths per Million
Los Angeles County homicides 2/16/2008 through 2/21/2008 = 12
Population 9,948,081
Death Rate = 1.21 Deaths per Million
And now for the stories and names that you WONT see at the end of This Week with George Stephanopoulos:

Glassell Park shootings
Glassell Park: One man was killed in a drive-by shooting and another was shot to death by a Los Angeles police officer in an afternoon of violence sparked by gang conflict in Glassell Park on Thursday, Feb. 21, authorities said.
The first shooting took place about noon, when a man carrying his 2-year-old toddler was struck multiple times by gunfire from a passing car at Roseview and Aragon avenues. The baby girl was not hit, but suffered injuries when her father fell, said Officer Kate Lopez of LAPD's media relations office.
Police gave this account of what followed: People in two cars opened fire on each other. Officers from the Northeast Division familiar with the gang rivalry in the area responded and pulled over one of the cars at Estara Avenue and Drew Street. Three men got out and began shooting. The officers fired back, killing one man and injuring another; he was taken to a local hospital. A third suspect fled on foot, but is believed to be in the area. As this report is being posted, officers have set up a barricade and are searching for the man. The fourth suspect, who is believed to be the driver, fled in a white Nissan.

They hire gang bangers who are unwilling to go up against their homies.4000 cops for a city of almost 4 million is pathetic, but who wants to work with their hands tied and targets painted on their backs?
The majority of gang punkss are snot-nosed assholes who'd wet their drawers at the sight of a gun pointed at them. The hard core of monsters is far less than 100K. Give LE free rein—hunt and kill—with no questions asked, and the lifespans of the scumbags would be drastically shortened.
It will soon come to the point where either the problem is addressed foircefully and definitively or the city will surrender to the lawless. Given the choices, there's no real choice. Kill or be killed. And a hundred thousand dead punks would be urban renewal.
