February 22, 2008 -- AUSTIN, Texas - Hillary Rodham Clinton (http://www.nypost.com/news/p/clinton_hillary/clinton_hillary.htm)'s free-spending campaign blew a whopping $95,000 at a low-end supermarket-deli chain last month in Iowa - a telling sign of why she can no longer cut the mustard financially against Barack Obama (http://www.nypost.com/news/p/obama_barack/obama_barack.htm) in critical states.

...

The $95,000 charge came at the Hy-Vee store in West Des Moines, a grocery and deli chain that is a fixture in the state, on Jan. 1, just two days before Obama stunned Clinton by beating her in the Iowa caucuses.More (http://www.nypost.com/seven/02222008/news/nationalnews/deli_pigout_a_clinton_gut_buter_98798.htm)

Gee, imagine! A Democrat spending money on probably low-quality food.

What a surprise.

Nearly $100,000 went for party platters and groceries before the Iowa (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/national/usstatesterritoriesandpossessions/iowa/index.html?inline=nyt-geo) caucuses, even though the partying mood evaporated quickly. Rooms at the Bellagio luxury hotel in Las Vegas consumed more than $25,000; the Four Seasons, another $5,000. And top consultants collected about $5 million in January, a month of crucial expenses and tough fund-raising.

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/c/hillary_rodham_clinton/index.html?inline=nyt-per)’s latest campaign finance report, published Wednesday night, appeared even to her most stalwart supporters and donors to be a road map of her political and management failings. Several of them, echoing political analysts, expressed concerns that Mrs. Clinton’s spending priorities amounted to costly errors in judgment that have hamstrung her competitiveness against Senator Barack Obama (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/o/barack_obama/index.html?inline=nyt-per) of Illinois.

“We didn’t raise all of this money to keep paying consultants who have pursued basically the wrong strategy for a year now,” said a prominent New York donor. “So much about her campaign needs to change — but it may be too late.”

If she can't manage a fiscally sound campaign (or hire people capable of doing so), what would she do with the government of the U.S.?

What?!?

Liberal/socialist economic policy doesn't work, and it leads to bankruptcy and ruin?

I'm shocked, shocked I tell you!
