He'll be great. The man has a fantastic funny bone.

Seems that stand-up comedy is what the man does best.

Am I really the only one who genuinely appreciates his humor?

I guess it's because he's running for President. It's a serious job for a serious man. But I tend to have a preference for more serious men with strong personalities. My husband is a funny guy privately when it's just the 2 of us but he has a more reserved public persona. I like him that way, in fact I like most men that way, unless they are a comedian by trade, in which I wouldn't be interested in them for anything else.

^^^Fair point. But I think the man in the white house needs a good sense of humor because it is a tough job. You cant do that kind of owrk without be able to see the bright side.

That's the way I am: A joker in private but dead serious in uniform and public.

I always try to be a little bit of both. Unless I am at task that required me to be exclusively one or the other, I try to balance myself in professional and casual settings.

I watched the show and turned it off after the Weekend Update, as is my wont. The Huckster was funny. At least the set-up was.
Don't get me wrong. A self-effacing sense of humor serves a politician well. But I also admire a sense of propriety. Nixon on Laugh-In was funny. Fred Thompson announcing his candidacy on the Tonight Show wasn't.

huck is great on comedy shows
his performances on the colbert report impressed me
he may be a candidate, but I appreciate a president who has good humor, and isnt afraid to show it. I don't think it detracts from the position.
