SILICON VALLEY: US consumers rate Democratic Presidential hopeful Barack Obama as more appealing, trustworthy, and influential than party rival Hillary Clinton and Republican frontrunner John McCain.

According to data released by the Davie Brown Celebrity Index (DBI), an independent index typically used by brand marketers to determine a celebrity's ability to influence consumer purchase intent, Obama's score in "trust" is 12 points higher than McCain and Clinton.More (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/US_has_more_trust_in_Obama_than_Clinton_McCain_Sur vey/articleshow/2809111.cms)

Not sure how much this "survey" means. It doesn't seem like much, IMHO.

Obviously the idiots who prefer Barry listen not to what he says, but how he says it.

Well, seeing as how they are mostly the same, I don't wonder.

Oops. There. I did it again.

Such comparisons I tell ya!! We all know how with the Clintons, people "disappeared" when they opposed them.

Barack's middle name speaks volumes, Hussein for the unknowing.

McPain? His record speaks for itself.

^^^Loyalties lie elsewhere.

People trust him more cause they havn't got a clue about him. That'll change after four years.

Obama's gonna be president. Within months it will become evident that he's an empty suit. The GOP will attack and the Democrats will feel bound to defend him, just as they did Bill Clinton.

The ensuing battle will pit all the wrong people against each other. It will be ugly, pitting black racists and their lunatic liberal friends against common sense and patriotism, which the DBM will equate with the Right. The lunatics who have wrongly been associated with the Right over the past several decades will come out of the woodwork, fanning the flames that will already be white hot with hatred, ignorance and misguided passion.

Though messy, it will be a chance to square things away. It will get so bad that people on both sides will want somebody to take charge who can restore order and normality. The task then will be to ensure no nut case takes over.

Spare me, Gnome, you can't figure it out? His father was a Muslim with links to terrorism. Obama claims to be a Christian but I don't trust him. Of COURSE he wants to end the conflict in Iraq NOW, he doesn't want to kill his own brethren.

I would agree with that, Prez. Very insightful of you.

It looks like the race between Obama and McCain could be a serious one. Let's hope it actually does democracy (voters, real people) some good. I'm sort of thinking that if either candidate shows sufficient honesty during the campaign, then I'll vote for him. By honesty, I don't mean being straightforward about supporting corruption (without mentioning it is) either.

You know what I'm talkin' about.

John McCain won't pussyfoot around. The Drudge cover story today is a picture of the obamination in full muslim garb. Another piece, he refuses to honor this country. His wife is ashamed of the country. He belongs to a black centered Church. He wants to run the nation according to traditional African American systems. He hates capitalisim. His mentor was a Russian communist and his chief advisor is a Russian national. As a child he idolized The Weathermen and as an adult counts among his friends the likes of Bernardette Dorn.

It's not a pretty picture once the jigsaw gets put together.

Thanx Maggie. You know its kinda like meeting someone for the first time. They have a great smile and a warm and firm handshake and seem like a really cool person. But there are a few weird things about them that you ignore because everything else seems in check.... that is what America is doing with Barack.

So many are choosing to trust him cause he seems so nice (even I like that he seems so nice) but they are ignoring his policies. They are ignoring the off parts about him cause everything else seems to be in check.

Its a foolish move on the part of the American people. Then again they are putting all their HOPE in the possiblity that the off parts about Barack will CHANGE.

I suspect they're playing the reverse racism card on themselves, figuring he seems "off" to them because of their own racism and just trusting that they, not he, are the problem. Liberals do that kind of thing.

And you got that from his name.

 Forget it, Gnome! I'm not even going to bother. The fact that his father was a Muslim with ties to terrorism has been posted in these forums before. Osama himself is a convert. I do not trust him.

Yeah. And we all know how that usually ends.

Barack expectorates the word CHANGE like he OD'd on Mucinex. Of course, he makes pretty sure he never explains what kind of change he's talking about, or how he intends to go about making the change happen (although we all have a pretty good idea, don't we, guys?).

No, that's not necessary. All you have to do is repeat the word a lot, preferably while you look nice and caring all the time, and the Great Unwashed will lap it up.

That's one thing that NEVER changes.

I'm not debating that. I'm debating that the name itself means anything. Nothing you've argued has demonstrated that the name has any importance.

*sighs* It is a Muslim name, Gnome! He is part Muslim! I don't like Muslims! I do not trust Muslims! I do not trust Osama nor will I ever! Gnome, if you can't figure it out then I'll leave it at that!

Is it too much to ask that people pay more attention to what someone does than to what his parents named him? After all that you've said it seems like the name itself is the least of your concerns, and so I didn't understand why to harp on it.

Oh but I have paid attention to what Osama has done, what he will do and I've researched his past. He's the total package of distrust.

What does Barack's middle name say about him?

Nothing since he was named after his father, Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. who deserted him and his mother in '63 and who died in an auto accident in
'82!

I have no use for him as a candidate, but to try and make something out of his name is ridiculous!

Believe me, gnome. If Obama's middle name was Abdullah, I would care as little as I care about it being Hussein.

What bothers me about Barack is not his name. It's his recalcitrant socialism. If he was called Abraham Lincoln, and I still would not vote for him because of his pesky socialist views.

That's what bothers me about Obama, and the reason why I would NEVER vote for him.
