I was kind of hoping we could perform a test. Watch the video then point out from memory all the details that are derivatives of the Left's perfect society...

Yeah, it does remind me of something that she would post. LMAO!!
That was a great movie, too! My favorite part was when the kid showed him how to fire a rocket launcher!!

That was a pretty good movie. I dunno exactly what the makers were trying to say, but it was decent.

Falling Down (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106856/) is one of my all-time favorites. :thumb:

Joel Schumacher was (I believe) trying to make a case that pure conservatism, embodied in Michael Douglas' character, is inherently sociopathic and destined to self-destruct violently.

Unfortunately for him if that was indeed his goal, the main character ends up being far too sympathetic to the audience, and every seemingly 'random act of sociopathic violence' he performs has a logical trigger that, instead of repelling the viewer, actually creates a level of understanding that has the viewer cheering along with the anti-hero.

Another example: warning, language

And rather than excoriate violent knee-jerk reactions to society's ills, this film highlights and underlines the evils themself. To that end, it's quite easy to categorize it as a Conservative-friendly film.

The only weak spot in the film is the conclusion, where it appears Schumacher was determined to end on a moral note (). Yet even that fails, when taken in the context of the entire film.

I recommend it to anyone 17 and older, there is some pretty intense violence and language throughout.

Falling Down when it was made only had a taste of what was coming down the freeway. His wife should have been killed by a drunk driver here illegally, his children in their schools in lockdown. A hamburger stand where no one speaks English is a mere annoyance. Having a gun put to your head while your car is stolen is something else.

Falling Down was made many years ago, but the message is the same YOU will accept violence as YOUR way of life. YOU will accept being reduced to mere prey in your own home. If you fight back, YOU will accept the full force and weight of the law enforcement that wants to legimize violence against you as business as usual.
