McCain mocks Obama's Iraq comments

<!-- END HEADLINE --> <!-- BEGIN STORY BODY --> By LIBBY QUAID, Associated Press Writer 10 minutes ago

Republican presidential hopeful John McCain mocked Democrat Barack Obama on Wednesday for saying he would take action as president "if al-Qaida is forming a base in Iraq."
"When you examine that statement, it's pretty remarkable," McCain told a crowd in Tyler, Texas.
"I have some news. Al-Qaida is in Iraq. It's called `al-Qaida in Iraq,'" McCain said, drawing laughter at Obama's expense.
Obama quickly answered back, telling a rally at Ohio State University in Columbus, "I do know that al-Qaida is in Iraq."
"So I have some news for John McCain," he added, saying there was no al-Qaida presence in Iraq until President Bush invaded the country.
Noting that McCain likes to tell audiences that he'd follow Osama bin Laden to the "gates of hell" to catch him, Obama taunted: "All he (McCain) has done is to follow George Bush into a misguided war in Iraq."
McCain said he had not watched the Democratic presidential debate on Tuesday night but was told of Obama's response when asked if as president he would reserve the right to send U.S. troops back into Iraq to quell an insurrection or civil war.
Obama did not say whether he'd send troops but responded: "As commander in chief, I will always reserve the right to make sure that we are looking out for American interests. And if al-Qaida is forming a base in Iraq, then we will have to act in a way that secures the American homeland and our interests abroad."
Throughout the primary season, McCain has repeatedly attacked Obama and Democratic rival Hillary Rodham Clinton for saying they would withdraw troops from Iraq.
"And my friends, if we left, they (al-Qaida) wouldn't be establishing a base," McCain said Wednesday. "They'd be taking a country, and I'm not going to allow that to happen, my friends. I will not surrender. I will not surrender to al-Qaida."
He said that withdrawing troops would be "waving the white flag."

If? If? If?

Well, FWIW, he really doesn't understand the American legal system either:

During the Roberts nomination debate, he argued that most Supreme Court cases involve no real controversy, "so that both a Scalia and a Ginsburg will arrive at the same place most of the time on those 95 percent of cases."

In the other 5 percent, he argued, the determining factor is not what the law in question says, or what the Constitution says, but the emotional disposition that the justices deciding the case have toward the parties disputing it. "In those difficult cases," Obama said, "the critical ingredient is supplied by what is in the judge's heart." Roberts and Alito were bad judges, he decided, because their hearts weren't in the right place.

Since he's beyond being just a regular liberal, a socialist, it's all about "feelings", and his are always hurt. He's *sensitive* about his ears, about his middle name (which he willingly adopted), the IRS auditing his fake church, and the WoT, which he really doesn't want to fight

And that's all it takes to convince some people that McCain's a "conservative."

Well, it probably convinces the sheeple at DU. But then again, some of them also consider Ralph Nader and Joe Lieberman to be conservatives.

So this is after excoriating and embarrassing a local talk show host who tried to support McCain in a warm up rally, you know, the one where McCain publicly humiliates him by telling him how he ONLY holds his fellow Senators like Obama in esteem and how improper it is to deride them for their associations with the local political mafia. ... later excusing his needless and tactless attack on a conservative supporter with the tiresome phrase "I only do what is right".

So now he is ridiculing Obama...this McCain is a sick bastard...real damn sick.

Obama has all the foreign relations wisdom of Jimmuh Carter. God help us if that naive fool becomes president.

And that's all it takes to convince some people that McCain's a "conservative."...And if that is the standard, that means that Hilary is also a COnservative...:D

Of course I would gladly argue that Hilary is just as Conservative as McCain, so what's the difference...

Obama has all the foreign relations wisdom of Jimmuh Carter. God help us if that naive fool becomes president.Paul you have read Obama precisely the way I do... He's a smiling face in an empty suit... And is about as naiive about foreign relations as he is looney about domestic policy... He could be Jimmuh Carter's son...

But fear not, McCain is going to be the next president... Because the Dems are gonna nominate Obama - Hillary is finished - and when the voters face the general election and a choice between McCain and this silly pseudo-Senator, they will choose McCain - Especially since McCain is more than enough to the left for disenchanted Dems to cross over and still get their Leftist president...

...So now he is ridiculing Obama...this McCain is a sick bastard...real damn sick. You know it, Max... And this is just a preview of what this little power-mad tyrannt is going to bring to the table when he is crowned emperor of America... The Democratic process in America will be boxed up and put on the shelf - as will the constitution...

We are going to see if there are any conservatives in Congress who have the balls to stand up and cause trouble - I hope they do because if they don't McCain and his friends on the left, and his puppets like Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham will rape this country...

Obama needs to be mocked. He's a space cadet. He will win the election.

McCain also needs to be mocked so that people can see who he really is.

The only reason to mock Hillary is to cut her ego down to size.

Princess Obama worship is a lot like Princess Diana worship. Even normally sane and rational people check their brains in the lobby and promptly begin to cry and scream like they've witnessed some little god on earth. He will win. And should he fail to win, something tells me his supporters would not take any disappointment very well.

...McCain also needs to be mocked so that people can see who he really is...You know that will cause him to fly into such a rage that he will die frothing at the mouth of a massive stroke... Do you wish for his death to be on your head? Can you live with that?

Hmmmmmmmmmm... Sounds better everytime I think about it...

If the Clintons steal this nomination from Obama (for "steal" is the only word that can describe the underhanded backroom manipulations that will allow them to win), I believe Obama's supporters will react badly - and understandably so... The result will be that they will refuse to vote for Hilary - They will either stay home and not vote at all, or they will cross over and vote for McCain, which isn't too far a walk since he is more than liberal enough to warm the cockles of the most radical Marxist... In fact I wouldn;t be suprised to see Uncle Teddy vote for McCain instead of Hilary...

But the end result in all possible permutations is that McCain will win...

Get used to saying it: President John McCain...

So sayeth Laz...

Oh man, I loved this audio byte, I heard it today. Obama can't go on a rant w/o mentioning bush, with McCain.
