With a wistful eye, I remember the Glory Days of this Presidential Campaign, when McCain's campaign was flat broke and dead in the water.

From Leno, last summer:

"John Edwards is on the campaign trail. He's now doing something called his 'Poverty Tour', where he's visiting people who have no money and no hope. His first stop today: John McCain's headquarters."

So here we are 8 months later, McCain is the nominee and the destruction of the conservative right is assured. Who'd a thunk it?

Sad really. I blame Fred for starting too late.

Hey guess what. McCain will keep us safe, I'm sad that I've gotta say this but well.. I care much more about national security, hell keep us safer than anyone on the democrat side, even if that, if a democrat has better national security not blowing taxes through the sky scraper, thats pretty good.

Which of the Democratic nominees will do their very best to keep us safe:

[ X ] John McCain
[ X ] Barack Obama
[ X ] Hillary Clinton

That's right, they ALL will. Because they are Americans and thats what American Presidents have always done.

Will McCain keep us SAFER than the rest? Maybe. None of us really know for sure. Just because he's old as dirt, was a war hero and has been in Washington since TR was charging up San Juan hill doesn't necessarily make him a better war leader. Just ask Winfield Scott.

...Sad really. I blame Fred for starting too late. Not so, Gato... You're just lookin for a target to vent your anger... If Fred had started early with the rest he would be in precisely the same place he's in today...

If you wanna blame someone, blame the media who froze out ALL the conservative candidates - Thompson, Tancredo, Hunter - and used their control of the airwaves to actively push their leftist preferences to the top...

This campaign season is in fact a triumph for the liberal media... They have achieved what they have been trying to do for decades - manipulate the American presidential campaign to produce a Super Leftist president by eliminating ANY conservative choice from the ballot...

Its how Marxists work... If you can't convince people to stop reading conservative literary works, burn the books... Works everytime...

Yep, the boys will be kicking Middle Eastern ass for a hundred years to come, all while we wither and die on the vine at home. Sounds like a good plan to me!

I blame the GOP voters for so easily being duped.

I wish I could run for president, speed up the Iraq process and other things that pretty much anyone here with common Reagan sense would know. Jayson, have
you seen any of the POSITIVE news about Iraq? I think that Duncan Hunter could've been the candidate if they're weren't such so odd competition and left crap. I think that if we didn't have thompson and that other really famous guy (not Giuliani) running, he might have gotten some attention.

I'm sorry bro but I refuse to lay the blame on the DBM that has an incredible low approval rating from conservatives in general. I blame the conservatives themselves for being stubborn and not financially supporting FDT. How many true blue conservatives do you know trust any sort of drive-by news?

Maybe so, but which candidate will better take care of those who keep us safe? That my friend is where the clear choice emerges!

Either Obama or Clinton is likely to feed, arm and clothe the soldiers well - but probably adopt more of an isolationist policy. Isolationism worked well up until about 1914 but then the wheels fell off the bus - I think that genie is out of the bottle and unlikely to return, but we'll see.

What concerns me more than that, is how Obama might committ our troops to UN actions and put them under the authority of foreign governments.

Since I'm leaning towards voting for him, this is an issue I'm going to have to watch closely.
