Farrakhan: Stick with Obama http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/sch/bn/nw2.gif (http://www.kentucky.com/727/story/332213.html)
Lexington Herald-Leader - 1 hour, 11 minutes agoNation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan said Thursday that backers of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama shouldn't be dissuaded by the senator's denunciation of Farrakhan during a Democratic debate. His statement comes after Obama was asked during Tuesday's televised debate with Democratic presidential rival Hillary Rodham Clinton about Farrakhan's support for the Obama campaign. ...

Sure he wants them to stick with him. He knows he is going to support his views and the Nation of Islam, he just can't until the US allows him to be elected. That's why we need to do everything we can to keep that from happening.

This reminds me of the Ku Klux Klan's support of Ronald Reagan in '80 and '84, despite his dislike of the organization. Like Reagan, the Klan opposed the 55 mph speed limit, though I didn't think that was a racial issue (especially since I knew of black people who routinely exceeded the limit). Unfortunately, I think Farrakhan and Obama agree on more than just one or two minor issues.

But Reagan really didn't want their support. I am not so sure about Obama not wanting the backing of the Nation of Islam.

I'd hate to defend the guy, but I'm sure he can live without the endorsement of the Nation of Islamofascists.

If anything, it's an embarassment, but not necessarily a setback. After all, Hillary got an endorsement (that she actively bargained for) from a black minister who told Giuliani, "Go to hell, white boy," and Obama never had the gonads to go after her for it. Not that you need balls if you're a Democrat.
