One reason Republicans cite now is the fact that the Democratic contest is highly competitive while the Republican race is all but over. But GOP turnout has been down since the beginning of the year -- even when the Republican race was wide open.
"Every coalition and every party undergoes transition over time and I think the Republican Party is undergoing such a transition," says Republican strategist Whit Ayres.

..."Every coalition and every party undergoes transition over time and I think the Republican Party is undergoing such a transition," says Republican strategist Whit Ayres...<!--startclickprintexclude-->I am of a mind to agree with Mr Ayres... I believe the Republicans are (foolishly) undergoing a transition - much like that of the Whigs and the Bull Moose party... ie, A transition to slip off into the pages of history to be replaced by a true Conservative party...
I also believe it will be a long time getting this Conservative party on its feet and competitive on a national level, and I doubt that I will see it in my lifetime...
When it does, though, I will endevor to endorse its candidates from the grave - That method seems to be all the rage these days...
In the meantime, this non-Socialist will in fact go to the polls and vote - for all the non-Socialist candidates I find on the ballot...

I still hold firm to my belief that this voter turn-out analysis is to be taken with a grain of salt; and I don't give a crap what the pundits say. The two candidates are tapping into two very distinct wells of support that can not be counted on to unite in November. Just like in the GOP; what are the chances that Ron Paul libertarians will unite with the 'Pubs in the fall... Zero!

Why stop at an endorsement? By the looks of things, dead people still have the right to vote!

The media talking heads have to talk about something or they lose their jobs... So, being of low intellect and devoid of any talent or imagination, they simply fall back on the same old analytical models that were established by smarter men than themselves decades ago...
But this year we have a twisted little circus of an election and all the traditional voting blocks have either been carved up or some even completely abandoned and disenfranchised (Laz clears his throat... AhemConservativesAhem)...
So the end result is that the voter turnout models offered by the media serves nothing more than to validate the fact that once again they are highly paid clueless morons...
