Shoutbox Troubles

I've been having troubles with the shoutbox for the past few weeks. It says this:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /vbshout.php on line 288 <TBODY></TBODY></TABLE>
And then it goes away when I press forum list. It does this with every computer I log on to.

What's going on?

Click the link for Forum List in the above toolbar, takes you to the main forum page. At the top is the shoutbox ... kind of an instant message box on the forum.

Does it do anything other than support chat for those who happen to be looking at it? I have to ask because PrezLeefun (http://www.freeconservatives.com/vb/member.php?u=1444) seems to be entering individual words ... can't figure out why.
