This is part of live, Son. It happens thousands of times of day, and is to be expected when you grow up and pay taxes.

It's inevitable, and is part of your duty as a citizen of your state, county, or the USA.

Your dad may enjoy the experience and learn from it.

I did Jury Duty once. For some reason I was voted Foreman. I was like "What?"

I got called for selection a month ago, but didn't actually get chosen. I still got $19 out of it, though. :D

Lol he said he got out of it by them asking "What 1 word describes you most" so he picked the word "annaliterate" they don't like people who can think on their own apparently.

If I get jury duty, it better be one good case. I'd praise God more if he got me an O. J. Simpson-esque case... I'd like to deliver some justice...

Soooo...what does "annaliterate" mean? Never heard of the word and apparently, neither has Merriam-Webster's dictionary....

I just did three days of Jury Duty in December.

It didn't pay much, and some of it was boring and uncomfortable to sit through, but I enjoyed the overall experience. My case wasn't the easiest to listen to because it involved domestic abuse (physical and sexual) and I think all of us Jurors felt a great deal of sympathy for all of the parties involved (including the accused).

Ultimately though, I felt good about the experience in a similar way to how I felt when I served in the Marines and also the way I feel every time I vote. Jury Duty is just one of those public responsibilities that All of us can take part in, and it's a small price to pay to help preserve our rights and freedoms.

I can't fathom why so many people try to get out of it. But I am glad that most of those who didn't want to serve ended up getting released anyways.

I've done it twice now and I'll gladly do it again if I'm called back.

Shoot, a ham sandwich? Where do I sign up? All we get here is something like $7.00 and a sore rear end. I was on a Federal case back when the 1st Gulf War was just getting started and we got $40 a day plus mileage, gotta love them deep pockets that Uncle Shoog has in his striped britches.
