New Baby Dachshund

My 16 yr old daughter had her four year dream come true today....a long hair mini dachshund puppy......he is a darling little boy........thought you all might enjoy the pics.

Adorable! My husband had a short hair copper colored one when he was a kid and she was still alive when I started dating him. She had the best personality, they are sweet dogs.

How big will he get? He looks pretty bright-eyed, are mini Dachshunds smart as breeds go? What's his name?

We miss having a dog, but we have two well-established cats. If we get a dog, it'll have to be one that doesn't get very large, (Our biggest cat weighs in a 14 lbs, the smaller one is at 11 lbs.), and likes cats.

This little guy is a riot. My cats are used to dogs and aren't afraid of them, but when that stubby little guy starts marching towards them, the looks on their faces are priceless. He is a mini but doesn't know it.

What a cutie! My neighbor had a doxie, named Heidi, that passed on. They decided to get another doxie and called her Judy. After several weeks they couldn't stop calling her Heidi, :D so the name stuck! Heidi II.
Doxies are wonderful pets. Congratulations!

My dog is still a puppy... she turns 13 in the summer but she's still surprisingly fast and energetic. She's still a puppy. She's a mutt, btw.
