The California appeals court decision criminalizing parents who homeschool their children is only the tip of an iceberg. Nationwide, parents are already being criminalized in huge numbers, and it is not limited to homeschoolers.

Ah, so the pogrom has begun. I knew it would not take long. Yes, homeschooling scares our lefty friends out of their collectively indoctrinated little minds, doesn't it.
What I love is that some parents are already taking steps to counter this latest attempt to (genuine) freedom of choice. I heard it on the radio that people are already working to get their degrees in teaching so that they will be qualified to homeschool their kids.
;evilgrin:
Of course, that won't stop the leftist boot camp hooligans from trying something new. But it will certainly slow the pogrom down a bit.
GO HOMESCHOOLERS!
I wonder what our dear Sister Homes has to say about this. I think I can guess.

Been all over it, Sis. I have e-mailed everyone within my homeschool circle, and it's been plastered all over the e-mail & online homeschool newsletter that goes out in our area. In addition, we have homeschool celebrity in my little town (she goes round the country lecturing, conducting workshops, speaking engagements, etc.) -- she is one of the first ones I sent the information on the California criminalization of homeschooling to. She works closely with our state's largest homeschool umbrella group and the homeschool legal defense organization.
I doubt the ripples will make it to Flori-duh before my daughter finishes (we're hoping to graduate her out early at the end of next year), but this most definitely WILL impact the states. We are blessed in having a very homeschool friendly state right now, but with the ruling in Cali, who knows for how long that will be. I know I will be a part of the fight for as long as I am able.

Why should it be government's job to tell parents how to educate their kids? Is it because the homeschooled kids turn out being smarter?

The government eliminated marriage and family. They no longer exist as distinct legal entitles. The terms (including "parent") are now used to describe relationships between people and public programs. Rights and responsibilities are defined by the programs. The primary purpose of each programs is to grow itself and become as powerful as possible.

Homeschoolers need to pay attention. People don't realize that our courts look at European ones many times when deciding cases here, and the ruling in Germany does not bode well for this country.
