After watching Pastor Wright and Michelle Obama I have come to the conclsion that racisim is alive and well in America. Not because of a majority of whites but a majority of blacks. Since 1965 blacks have had the benefit of our schools, our teachers, and our money. They have had the advantage over us with affirmative action policies that precluded me and many others from getting jobs at Texaco in 1969. My dad and oldest brother both worked there when I left the Air Force. I was promised a job at the refinery when I graduated high school in 1965. The manager told us when we showed up in 1969 that he had to hire 7 blacks, 7 women, and 7 other minorities before he could hire one of us. That, in spite of the fact that the six people that passed all the tests were 5 white males and one white female. Thousands of instances similar to this took place in our area. They have since become more aggregious and commonplace.

My oldest daughter lost a scholarship to a black student in spite of the fact that my daughter had a 4.5 GPA and the black girl had a 2.75GPA. Fortunately she graduated Valedictorian and the first two semesters were free for her. She also picked up several scholarships subsequent to that and graduated from Texas A&M in May 2006. My youngest daughter was also Valedictorian at her high school but since she was so far ahead of everyone in GPA.(6.8), with the new advanced system in place, there was no way she could be short changed. However, two of her classmates lost scholarships to minority students, again, with a huge disparity in GPA's.

To hear Mrs Obama denigrate America after she also had every unfair advantage in getting into Harvard is just nauseating. She should get down on her knees and thank God she was born in a couintry where her black skin allowed her to bypass every criteria of acceptance to such a highly difficult school to gain entry into. She should also thank God for her husbands meteoric rise to power because he is somewhat black.

Their ideological leanings were ,and still are, influenced by Pastor Wright. Tell me that you, as a white male or female, did not develop some of the attitudes and philosophies of your pastor or some other mentor during your early years. I can feel Obama and his wife seething inside at some imagined slight. I can hear the anger and ingratitude in their speeches. I can see that they are not typical blacks who are ignorant because they chose to be but very sly and cunningly iconoclastic.

We can no longer expect that all the advantages blacks have enjoyed for 40 plus years will fade into the dust bin of history but become ever more prevalent if Obama becomes President. I can also see Hillary, as President ,condoning and adding her support for these race based and highly unconstitutional policies. In either case, your children and grandchildren will suffer more and more blatant abuses of equality and fairness under the administration of either democrat candidate. Ignorant, lazy and useless employees will proliferate the business world and our progeny will have to deal with them however they can. What a bleak and frustrating future they will have to look forward to.

I agree, I think policies like affirmative action are idiotic. It makes absolutely NO sense to not give the job to someone who is a harder worker or who is smarter and to give it to someone else simply because of the color of their skin.

Taz, I am a black woman and I completely agree with you. It is a shameful display of anti-americanism that the Obama's, their pastor, thier church, and all people in like thought have shown.

I am disgusted. There is most definitly a race problem in this country and it isn't coming from whites.

The pastor's rhetoric is embematic of the need a huge part of black America has for racisim. It defines them as a people. They rely on it. They need it. It is a crutch to get through life with as little effort as possible. Did the waitress bring cold coffee, it's racisim. Didn't go to school and can't find a job, it's racisim. Refuse to leave when a hurricane was coming, staying is due to racisim. How can a people who have been raised on the drug of racisim now give it up! It is the benefactor of everything.

But I still don't wish to support the Clinton campaign. I'm not jumping on the good-ole-boy (including Hillary) Arkansas racism bandwagon.

When I was in the Army I had a few friends who happened to be black who had been raised in black communities such as Haarlem and South Central. I didn't understand very well then when they told me (in so many words) that they had rejected that whole culture of entrapment and defeatism, left with nothing to inspire them except THE GRUDGE against white people, which in turn keeps them trapped in a cycle of failure. They joined the Army to escape that because they somehow recognized when they were growing up that it wasn't how they wanted to live. It was a great experience being friends with them.

I have since wondered sometimes what I would be like if I was born black. I look at the Rev. Wright's audience standing and clapping at his America-hating racist rants and cringe at the thought of being trapped in such hateful racist mentality.

I don't know whether to despise them or feel sorry for them; some of both, I suppose.

Paul, I met many blacks in the Army who fit the same discription. For 9 weeks, we were the same and we worked together quite well. My only beef with the Army (unless the policy recently changed) is that they have a quota where they have to have ''x'' amount of Non-Commissioned officers (Sergeants and up) that are black. I never agree with that policy but the black NCO's that I met over my life were very good so I never really gave that policy much thought.

Prez, I have a question for YOU. If you don't wish to answer it, I'm fine with that. Have you ever been given preference for a job, school or whatever bases on your race only to decline it based on your disagreement with the preference? I know it's a bit of a loose question but I'm looking to see how this has affected you personally. It's just nice to hear it from one who has been there.

Prez if you have been around a college campus as a student or faculty member lately you will see even more liberal ideology that only hurts black students. The students who want to learn and become successful are castigated by their peers as Uncle Tom's or other such nonsense. One young man in particular was stunningly intelligent and the majority of other black students shunned him and berated him everyday. His character witheld their criticism and he graduated with honors and now owns his own company in computer maintenance. I don't think he will be hiring any of the ignorant slobs who only passed because of the system that only gets paid for students that pass. I consider him the epitomy of character that Dr. King spoke of. My post was not meant to be offensive or racist but factual data that I have personally witnessed.

I unfortunately have not been there so I have nothing to tell you. I havn't received a job, or school offer based on race.

I go to school because of financial aid because my mom makes less than $20,000 a year (in New York that is incredibily low) and the only paid job I ever had was working at Chosen People Ministries where my mother works. I got the job because I know her.

I beleive it. I know you weren't trying to offend anyone. You were being honest. I commend you for it. I know far too many people who would cower because of pressure.

How many more years do I need to plan on accepting black people as equals, and receiving hatred and scorn in return?

I had a black woman come into my office a few years ago wanting to sue El Camino College for not admitting her into a class that was full. She could stay and audit the class and wait to see if someone dropped out but the class was full. Her complaint as expressed to me was that there were still white people in the class so she should have been admitted and the person who had registered on time dropped to make room for her because she is black. Her complaint stated by her was "The class can't be full, there are still whites in the class." That is not a case I took seeing the futility of such a lawsuit and she surely walked out because I was a racist.

Well said.

Black Americans are just sounding really whiney now. I know people from Asian countries who are SOOOOOOO racist it's not funny. I've never met a white person who's a microgram as racist as someone raised in an Asian country (ok, China). I'm not saying all Chinese are racist; it's just an observation from all of my Chinese instructors at acupuncture school.

This whole smelly, stinking Wright business is exactly what I hoped the Obama candidacy would expose -- that blacks all over America are imbibing the same sort of shiite that the madrassas of the Middle East have been pouring down Muslim kids' throats. Hatred. Visceral, unthinking, totally unfounded hatred for white folk and the West.

Without meaning to, Obama has done the nation a signal service by dragging this pustule out into the open where it cannot be denied or passed off as something else, even by liberals.

 A guest on The O'Reilly Factor has already admitted this. Of course, she was lamely trying to use it as an excuse for the Rever-und Wright; it's okay for him to an anti-American racist, since other black churches are spewing the same hatred. Black bigotry is being exposed, & everyone sees it except the black bigots.

Armstrong Williams recognized that black churches today are largely weekly Black Klan Rallies (my words, not his) in his latest Townhall column:
