It does happen.
Why doesn't he do what all the other men do, find a girlfriend and live off her?

Yeah, that's the spirit. The laws should stay the way they are and we should encourage further social degradation. After all, "they" aren't like "us" anyway.
Men!

Learn how to start a drive to get a massive amount of people against the existing child support laws. I don't want to hear that crap from people that the man who fathers a child is liable for his support either. But if you want to ape in, go right ahead. I'll wager my land that the majority of the women receiving child support are supporting some other man who either threatens them with bodily harm or death, or they are using the child support money for themselves.

There are a massive amount of people against existing child support laws. I've pointed out that it's a viable political issue that can make or break candidates. It made enough of a difference to make George Bush president instead of Al Gore. But that was a reaction to 8 years of Clinton who pumped the issue endlessly until the applause died out. I can't prove it's more than coincidence, but Romney's lead started dropping exponentially immediately after he answered a question about child support laws - claiming there's nothing wrong in Mass. It wouldn't surprise me at all if that wasn't just coincidence. There was some debate about Republican candidates at MND before that, with some Romney supporters. After that, he was dead among that crowd.
There is major conservative support for changing the laws - recognition of the problem by such figures as Phyllis Schlafly who cares a great deal about family and took the time to get educated. Conservative / conservative Christian radio has been abuzz with this stuff for months (particularly with guest Stephen Baskerville).
Fact is, both parties support the current pork-barrel corruption and the legal destruction of marriage and family that went with it. Major media - that heavily supported the propaganda campaign for a decade - won't do a thing to correct their error. So - the trick is that there aren't candidates in the running to support. As long as the two parties stick together on corruption and destruction, the two party system doesn't provide an answer.
