Virtually everything about the liberal project is known by libs themselves to be malarkey.
They know that gun control does nothing to stop Columbines and that concealed-carry sharply reduces murder and violent attacks on individuals, especially in the inner city.
They know that raising the minimum wage increases unemployment.
They know that affirmative action is a sick charade and Jesse Jackass a sick man.
They know that NOW isn't about "women's issues" but about political power, period.
They know that cutting taxes stimulates the economy and that the govt gets more back that way than by raising taxes.
They know that the public schools are dysfunctional and need drastic measures to get right.
They know that welfare as it was (before the GOP-forced changes) damaged lives, especially black lives in the inner city.
They know that overturning Roe v. Wade wouldn't result in the disappearance of legal abortion in America, and that partial-birth abortion is legalized murder.
They know that Bill Clinton was a trashy cracker who shamed the country.
They know all this and more, yet they continue to oppose legislation that would be good for America.
Why? I surmise three major reasons:
Some liberals are well-intentioned idiots. These are accessible to reasoned argument and proof, as witness the scores of libs who changed Parties in '96.
Other liberals are corrupt in their souls (Ted Kennedy, Barney Frank, Tom Daschle, Black Caucus members) and use lies, bad policy and hatred to keep themselves in power.
Still other liberals are out to bring America down.
Almost nothing has any effect on the corrupt and the America-haters, so why bother to write articles and argue with followers of these evil people?
Three reasons: to present reality, always useful in itself; to help educate the truth-seeking young; every now and then to succeed in persuading a well-intentioned idiot.
