The School Crotch Inspector (http://www.townhall.com/Columnists/JacobSullum/2008/04/02/the_school_crotch_inspector)

There are two kinds of people in the world: the kind who think it's perfectly reasonable to strip search a 13-year-old girl suspected of bringing ibuprofen to school, and the kind who think those people should be kept as far away from children as possible. The first group includes officials at Safford Middle School in Safford, Ariz., who in 2003 forced eighth-grader Savana Redding to prove she was not concealing Advil in her crotch or cleavage.

It also includes two judges on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, who last fall ruled that the strip search did not violate Savana's Fourth Amendment rights. The full court, which recently heard oral arguments in the case, now has an opportunity to overturn that decision and vote against a legal environment in which schoolchildren are conditioned to believe government agents have the authority to subject people to invasive, humiliating searches on the slightest pretext.

I don't know what's worse - the perpetrators of this outrage inflicting this or the 9th Circus Court siding with them?

The little gestapo agents in our public schools need to be removed as do their leftist totalitarian-leaning enablers in our courts!

We the inheritors of generations who fought and died against fascism and communism are ourselves now marching towards the same totalitarianism, and it just sickens me to watch freedom in this country die by a thousand fascist cuts.

Looks like they're birds of a feather ...

What really gets me is the fact that these wacky little nazis are the same freaks who teach homosexualism to kids in 3rd grade as something normal and even necessary.

Hell, Maryland could be considered Southern. They have that Southern twang in their speech. And have by far more Country Radio Stations then any Northern State. That's how I got into Country Music, but going to Ocean City Maryland.

No surprise there. Boulder is in Colorado.
Anyway, the person who inspected the girl could have done it by a different method. Our school has a drug dog for these kind of problems.

It also includes two judges on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, ....

This is a court that has proven over and over again that they have an anti-civil rights (far left) political agenda. This is also the court that redefined marriage (in P.O.P.S. v Gardner (1993)) as "social policy", stripping its civil law status and reducing it to a government program: thus, opening the door for a very wide range of problems.

The only partially good news is that the 9th circuit has been overturned by the USSC more than any other court in the nation.

I guess we're safe in Montana on this issue, and not just because we're prone to wearing, carrying, showing and shooting off our guns, either.

I've never been accused of carrying Advil in my crotch. Not even one time. By anyone. Ever.

Darn!

Maryland is a southern state.

Geographically only. Maryland and a good portion of Virginia are much more , "northern" socially and politically than they are southern.

MD is a solidly uber-liberal state like MA, DE, NY, VT, NJ, and so one in the northeast.

The only news I hear coming out of MD anymore is eroding property rights and expanded pervert rights.

I don't see anything southern in that.

MD's southern roots are Gone with the Wind.

Obviously, the definition varies.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8d/US_map-South_Modern.png
Modern definition The states in dark red are almost always included in modern day definitions of the South, while those in medium red are usually included. Maryland and Missouri are occasionally considered Southern, while Delaware is only rarely considered part of the South. Oklahoma is sometimes considered Southern because the area of Oklahoma, then known as Indian Territory, was allied with the Confederacy. West Virginia is considered Southern by many, because it was once part of Virginia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_United_States

I tend to agree with the dark red, though I also include Florida and Texas in my definition.

My definition is the pic Suzie posted, minus Maryland, Delaware, and DC.I could go for that, though I generally consider West Virginia to be more southern than Virginia. That's because I base it on the people and customs far more than the geography. Now if you sliced off the southern half of Virginia from the northern half.....

Have you ever been to Maryland?

Many of the people there have thicker Southern Accents then folks from Tenn or Miss.

More Country Western radio stations then any Northern State I know of as well.

I live in Northern Virginia, so I've been to Maryland countless times.

Much of rural Maryland is like the south, but on the whole, the state is far more northern politically and culturally than it is southern.

The Northern area of Virginia and other city areas: Richmond, Norfolk, Charlottesville all tend to be more liberal than the rest of the state, and the state has grown and changed immensely over the years. It's becoming a Northeastern state.

Getting back to the topic, here is my warning to any SOB who strips any of my grandchildren for any reason other than medical emergency:

You don't know who I am, but you will be able to explain to your surgeon why you wound up with a baseball bat shoved up your ass by a very rabid and pissed off grandfather with Hell-fire shooting out of his eyes.

That actually ends up happening a lot. In my brother's criminal justice class (which he sometimes takes me too) the professor said that fathers of rape victims have often one instinct: Kill the rapist. Most of the time, it ends up happening.
