I am not kidding.
My dog, Butterscotch (she), refuses to eat treats without doing tricks. I gave her a pizza crust so she could go away while I was typing. She did exactly the opposite and layed it down at my feet.
"What's this?" I asked. "You want to WORK for your food?"
After making her do a couple of tricks, she gladly took the pizza crust and went walking off to my bed (which is a matress on the floor... I chose it like that, I'm weird) and layed down.
A few hours later, I come in and turn on the light. My dog gets up off the bed and walks off to another spot in my room. She doesn't complain about fairness or about how I hate dogs. She just moves.
Do any of your dogs do that?

That's okay. My dog's twelve and she thinks she's a puppy. She also has the energy of one.

My dog is a limousine democrat. Everything is hers by entitlement. One of her entitlements is breakfast, with coffee, cream and sugar please. She sits at the table and eats her breakfast just like any person would, including dunking the biscotti. She chats while she eats, making casual conversation and expecting a reply to her wisdom. She is not above putting a paw on your arm when making her point.
The cats are welfare bum democrats.

The only dog I hate is Barbara Streisand. Didn't you hear she was infected with tainted dog food?

My dogs are royalty. Chumley and Bailey do not think they are dogs just persons with two extra legs and much larger teeth. What the hell, I feed them, exercise them, take them to the park to chase squirrels, take them on vacation to Maine, take them in my boat and last but not least clean up their poo. I feel like I'm the peon just put on earth to serve them. They just give me love, absolute trust and loyalty. All in all not a bad trade off. Oh, they growl at liberals so they must be Republican.

My male cat, Wishbone, is a libertarian. He does whatever he wants and in return he lets me do whatever I want. As long as we don't hurt each other, we could care less.
My femle cat, Pussy Willow, is a liberal. Constant attention. Constant pampering. If you don't give her attention, she'll leave a turd on your pillow. She wants fairness all the time. If I give Wishbone attention, I must, MUST, give Pussy Willow attention.

Of of my customers has a bell attached to the back door. When the dog wants to go out, he goes over and wacks the bell with his paw. Someone then comes along to open the door and let the dog out. These folks got a new puppy, and sure enough the older dog had the puppy by the back door showing him how to ring the bell.
My customers are pleased at how well trained the dog is. My take is the older dog had the puppy at the back door and said "These humans are so well trained, all you have to do is ring this bell and one will come runnniiiinnngg, to let you out".
