I'm surprised that WI is "Right Denied" and VT is "Unrestricted".

I wouldn't live there to please a dying grandmother.
But I hear the shopping is great.

New York is my second least favorite place. Hell holds the top spot. And the differences are minor.

Alabama issued me my first pistol permit when I was 18 yo... My reason was because I was traveling several hours back and forth to college... The county sheriff signed it without blinking...
I love Alabama... :D

Question: How can CCW permits be defined as the (sic) death of gun control? If anything, requesting permission to exercise a Constitutional right is incorporating gun control into the national dialogue. For my part I will never get a 'permit'.
My CCW permit is the bold handwriting of the 2d Amendment and Art. 26, TN Constitution.

Please note:
No law abiding citizen of Illinois can get a permit, but POLITICIANS can?!? Obama can carry without a permit?!?
Oh Lord, I'm glad I left for Montana in time.

ROFLMBO!!! :roar:
The Doc is like me. He measures a place by the amount of liberals living in it. Paradise would not do, if there were liberals in it. I love you, Doc. :hugs:

The two red states deny the right to carry - politicians exempt.
Yellow states "must prove a need - or be a celebrity"

New York is my second least favorite place. Hell holds the top spot. And the differences are minor.I understand that there are a lot of people who are fascinated with New York City... I just don't see it but I believe in "Live and Let Live"...
When I was in Naval ROTC I did a Summer cruise on an LST from Norfolk to Halifax, laying over one weekend in New York City... I tried my best to see the glory of New York, but after a day of hitting some of the tourist spots - the "must see" places that some of the Yankee Midshipmen demaded we visit - I was unimpressed and spent the balance of the weekend on board ship...
I will allow that we got some outstanding pizzas delivered to the ship while we were there...
In all honesty, Im a country boy anyway and I really don't care for cities as a general rule, so I already had a predisposition against New York... I will say, however, that London is an exception to my "no cities" rule... I do enjoy London...

Please note:
No law abiding citizen of Illinois can get a permit, but POLITICIANS can?!? If true, this simply proves something that we've known pretty much all along: politicians in Illinos are crooks.

I understand that there are a lot of people who are fascinated with New York City...Doubtless they're the same people who drive slowly past auto accidents, looking for stray body parts.

Question for gun fans - many states have concealed carry laws, but here in Ohio, there isn't a law against carrying a gun that is not concealed (at least that I'm aware of). Has anyone tried carrying a gun around a city in plain view? If so, what happened?

I plan on getting a gun here in Nevada. In fact, I hope to own 3 but I should start with one since I've never shot a gun before. I am pro-choice when it comes to guns: I want the choice of shooting a criminal (who's broken into my home) in the kitchen, in living room or in my bedroom if I choose!
DF, I was just in Phoenix a couple of weekends ago. Love Scottsdale! It took 2 hours to cross Hoover dam, however.

Has anyone tried carrying a gun around a city in plain view? If so, what happened?Happens all the time. They even have rallies for open carry. Nothing really happens as fgar as reactions go. In fact, many people who open carry report not even receiving a second glance. There have been a few isolated incidents of someone else needlessly overreacting, but those are quite rare. Some local ordinances still prohibit open carry, but they are unconstitutional in accordance with Ohio law. Unfortunately, since none of those ordinances have ever come up for a court challenge, many of them still remain. And although not really legal, some localities may arrest you as a result.
Oh, and it's not legal to open carry in a vehicle.
