ABC News' Sunlen Miller and David Wright Report: Timing is everything in politics and, for Barack Obama's campaign, today's endorsement by the American Hunters and Shooters Association showed both good and bad timing.

The good news, for Obama: the support of this gunowners' rights group may help him overcome the controversy over his suggestion that small voters "cling to guns and religion" because they're "bitter."

The bad news? Today was the anniversary of the deadly Virginia Tech massacre...

DON'T BE DECEIVED BY THIS!

The AHSA is a liberal front organization which in truth supports tighter gun control and donates member dues to Democrats and gun control groups.

From their propaganda web site:

Senator Obama has clearly demonstrated his commitment to the 2nd Amendment by his vote in support of the Vitter amendment to HR 5441, the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations bill of 2007. This amendment prevents the Government from confiscating guns in a time of crisis or emergency. Imagine how the citizens felt during Hurricane Katrina when government agents kicked in doors to confiscate law abiding citizens' guns at a time when they needed them the most. We know Senator Obama "gets it."

hmmm, they site Obama's vote on the Vitter amendment to HR5441 which McCain also voted yea on - but no mention of McCain - go figure. Plus Obama is Senator of of IL - one of only two states that forbid concealed carry rights.

The AHSA is NOT to be confused with the NRA which is a true gun owners right organization.
