<!-- end storyhdr --> WASHINGTON - The electoral road to the White House favors Democrats this fall — either Barack Obama or Hillary Rodham Clinton — and has Republican John McCain playing defense to thwart a presidential power shift.

A downtrodden economy, the war in Iraq and a public call for change have created an Electoral College outlook and a political environment filled with extraordinary opportunity for the Democrats and enormous challenge for the GOP nominee-in-waiting.

Both parties count on victory in dozens of states that long have voted their way. The competition to reach the 270 electoral votes needed to win is expected to play out primarily in 14 states. All but one saw the greatest action in 2004. The exception is Virginia, a longtime Republican stronghold where Democrats have made inroads. Not a chance if Obama is nominated.

Not a chance if it's HiLIARy either.

This has the flavor of whistling in the dark. Democrats know they have two dead bang losers on their hands.

I noticed the same stuff at Rasmussen Reports yesterday. Based on current data, Barak Obama could very well be the next POTUS.

I'm predicting that the sickness traditional Republican Party supporters feel in their hearts about the corruption of the party will play a significant role.

That's interesting, because the democratic leadership feels that a defection of HiLIARy supporters will prevent the obamination's coronation.

Personally, I tend not to predict the outcome of an election until after the primaries. I'm not sure how important that is, since the most reliable predictions I've found are based on extremely superficial measures. Obama is a great speaker for example - looks good. Romney looked too slick in a retro sort of way.

Anyways - My predictions about presidential races have historically always been correct and I've never been one to watch poll results the way I have been more recently. Back when I was 10-11 years old, I'd just look at them and listen a bit - and say - that guy's going to win. (Side note: My first prediction was JFK which might have been pretty easy - but then I followed with a prediction while watching the night the final returns were coming in - he's gonna get shot.)

I agree with this. On the GOP, you have Frumpy McSquirter Pants against a crat, either Bulldyke Thunderthighs or Blackey Toofullahimself.

A geriatric with mental issues, a fat lesbian and a toothy broham.

I'm gonna call this one for the 98 lb. dude with the fro. The emurrican electorate is in the middle of its racial guilt bell curve. Its religious and sexual. Like a fever, its never been higher than right now. Plus, he talks like one of them.

They also like his teeth. And, he has a real cool logo. If I was in the Big Brother house, I'd totally vote out the dyke and the old fart. Who wants to give them half a million dollars?

Voting is like reparations, kickin one down to the man on the corner. Giving a dollar to the beggar on the street and calling it 'duh-mock-race-y'.

Not a chance if Obama is nominated.

Not a chance if it's HiLIARy either.I dunno. I heard the same comments about McVain getting the nomination. In fact, I made the same comments myself.
