Curious mainstream reporters drop by to get a look at Free Staters' fourth open-carry litter pickup event in New Hampshire. But how are locals and media reacting to the site of so many holstered weapons?

What did that man at the end say? Something about all those people with guns were "intimidating"? Guns are supposed to intimidate. Many would-be confrontations have probably been put down by the mere flash of a firearm. No need to shove it up a boor's nose and all that. We need open carry in Texas!

I wish you could open carry in Texas, but not only will you go to jail you really will I think be breaking the law. Get yer ass to New Hampshire where we have hardly any gun restrictions, and hardly any crime.

hardly any gun restrictions, and hardly any crime
Its funny how that works out.
Well, in Texas you can have a gun rack in your pickup with guns and I am pretty sure its legal.

Well, in Illinois we are overburdened with anti-gun laws, and just look at our crime statistics.
Huh? :listen: Oh! ------------ Never mind.........

But you can open carry in unincorporated areas of Illinois that have not explicity prohibited it. That's better than quite a few other states. It's even better than Texas (go figure). You can open carry in Ohio, just like you can in New Hampshire, but Ohio's crime isn't exactly low, because it is far more than simply an issue of open carry. There are also quite a few states with more permissive open carry laws than New Hampshire.

Just to let you all know, if you open-carry in a state that DOES NOT ALLOW IT, I'm just talking from the top of my head, do NOT say this: How come cops can open-carry and I can't! it's a losing battle. To be honest, as a person with out a gun, I would be intimidated and sort of scared if open-carry was allowed because, I don't know who good people are VS bad, and I don't want to stereotype, though I'm guessing if you wear red all over and it's not Friday, chances are thats not good.

Do you know who they are now?
What do you mean by that?

He means, "Do you know the good guys from the bad guys, NOW?"
Here's the rub. If the good guys are "allowed" to carry, open or concealed, the bad guys won't start any crap for fear that they'll be shot. Criminals may be cowards, but few of them are stupid...well, not THAT stupid anyway.

See, Timberwolf, I do agree with that but in some situations, places I walk into, no one looks like a "friendly." Thats a hard argument though, because I am saying a my word against your word, but really, I wouldn't like an open-carry in South Florida at least where I am, too many people scare me, and thats with out a gun. I am not gonna speak for every South Floridian or every gun owner, I'm saying it from my POV.

In the infamous words of Benjamin Franklin, "An armed society is a polite society."
One other thing I should've mentioned about those who LEGALLY own their weapons is they are VERY good shots.
I should say I appreciate your situation, though. There are 4 times more people in the Miami metro area than there are in the entire state of North Dakota. So, there is a difference between your situation and mine.

What do you mean by that?I mean there's no difference. You don't know who the bad guys are now, and allowing open carry wouldn't change that, so your fears are ungrounded. In fact, you'd probably be a lot safer.

Absolutely...but, only after the knee-knocking, liberal pantywaists stop having conniptions, pitching hissy fits, and crapping themselves at the sight of a gun...
