SANTIAGO, Chile (AP) — The long-dormant Chaiten volcano blasted ash some 20 miles into the Andean sky on Tuesday, forcing thousands to evacuate and fouling a huge stretch of the South American continent.

Seems to me the Southern Hemisphere is getting ready to cool off significantly in the next 2-3 years.
Just a guess, but after St. Helen's blew her cool in the 80s, the next few summers were nothing to brag about. In fact, I think we had snow on the ground in JUNE a year or two after the eruption (although, my memory on the actual year is sketchy).
