Juan missed 15/25 votes that the ACU scored on, but he got an 80 because of these votes:

Earmark disclosure
Protection for grassroots lobbying organizations
Extension of Bush tax cuts
Repeal of AMT
Repeal of death tax
Card-check, which eliminates secret ballots for union organizing
Social Security benefits for illegal aliens
DC Congressional seat

He (predictably) screwed up his score with the votes concerning ESCR and his amnesty bill, the entire country has shifted sharply to the left since last year's elections:

“Elections have consequences and the election of 2006 was no exception,” Keene said. “The overall average score of the House of Representatives fell from 53.1 percent conservative in 2006 to 42.91 percent in 2007 while in the Senate the average score in 2007 was 42.67 percent conservative compared to 49.5 percent in 2006.”

Shows in the economy.

The ACU site: http://www.acuratings.org/

Both of Hillary and Barack Hussein Obama flunked, 0 and 7 , respectively.

I was  until I saw that the ratings were from the ACU, not the ACLU.

More than likely, the ACLU gave him an A+ :smirk:

Another reason to NOT vote for McPain. To me, an "F" from the ACLU is worthy of being a Conservative!

In 2007, McCain got a 17% rating from the ACLU (http://action.aclu.org/site/VoteCenter?JServSessionIdr007=t347uvue91.app24a&congress=110&location=S&page=congScorecard).

Another reason to NOT vote for McPain.

Because he gets a good grade from the American Conservative Union? I would prefer it was higher but.....

If a 17% from the libs equals 83% from the conservatives, then his conservative grade should be a B.

Well, isn't that what they said it is?

Assuming that the ACU and the ACLU have polar opposite positions on all issues, and that they use the same issues to evaluate politicians, then McCain's 17% rating from the ACLU should correspond to an 83% rating from the ACU.

All I'm saying is that the math seems to add up.

However, McCain did not vote on several issues, and I think they were not counted for or against him by the ACLU. Other organizations, such as Americans for Democratic Action, count that as a "wrong" vote when they rate our political leaders.
