The end of the world frying pan stuff is gone, but the efforts to control our lives in the name of climate change are still going strong.

It isn't over (http://www.freeconservatives.com/vb/showthread.php?t=59680), according to the BBC.

Melting ice is mentioned in the article in the first post.

McCain needs to get onboard with this thing - no warming during the Bush administration. Republicans can claim to have solved it.

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed how they're subtly changing from calling it "global warming" to "climate change," in response to people realizing this so called death by warming isn't panning out. Now, under "climate change," any change in the weather at all can be declared a sign of the impending doom for man, punishment from gaia, for our sins against her (not driving hybrids, using candles, voting commu.... err, democrat).
Global Warming = Vote democrat or the Earth will kill you.

The term climate change has been used for many years as the leading term for weather based political activities. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) for example, is the UN committee set-up in 1988 for the purpose of pushing the world into oblivion. The climate changes - that's what we all know - "climate change" can work both ways. You just keep adding to the complexity of the explanation to provide a cover-story for taxing / spending / controlling.
But in daily propaganda - your observation is probably correct. Too many people are saying that if Global Warming continues the way it has, we'll end up freezing to death.

Of course.
There is an easy way to deal with this: keep making fun of Global Warming, even if the GW crowd won't call it that any more (that's really the anchor they are hanging onto, even though they know it doesn't work any more):
"Wow! Another six inches of Global Warming!"
"Any more Global Warming and I will need to buy a parka."
or, on an unseasonably warm, nice day,
"Hey, Global Warming isn't all bad..."
"Climate change" is easy to make fun of. Challenge the "climate change" folks to tell you WHICH way it's going to change -- they can't answer you.
Answer with:
"OK, it's hotter -- climate change.
Colder -- climate change.
Drier -- climate change.
Wetter -- climate change.
The weather changes all the time. That's why it's called 'weather'."
The Rush approach to this is the best -- make fun of it. Mock it. Scorn it. Rub their noses in their nonsense and embarrass them with it.[/COLOR]

I've seen the edges unraveling ... it's gone beyond calling it climate change instead of global warming. I think the climate change thing has already been laughed at enough that it doesn't matter. Everybody associates that term strongly with global warming anyway - in common communication, it's synonymous.
What I'm seeing is an increased in - so what? What's wrong with a clean earth anyway? with weaker attacks against the alleged enemy.
The ranks are breaking and we're starting to see them run. If you want this to matter politically (now that there's obvious momentum) - it's time to attack.

I just got email from the G. Gordan Liddy Show. Said they wanted to me to be a guest today. Too late I think, since I read it after the show started. I wonder if it's about this article. Did anyone listen today?
