Every adult should be forced to use a 'carbon ration card' when they pay for petrol, airline tickets or household energy, MPs say.

The influential Environmental Audit Committee says a personal carbon trading scheme is the best and fairest way of cutting Britain's CO2 emissions without penalising the poor.

Under the scheme, everyone would be given an annual carbon allowance to use when buying oil, gas, electricity and flights.

Pretty soon these dumbasses from Britain (what's so Great about it?) will be shrieking with joy as they frolic and tease each other on their way to get their toilet paper card scanned for toilet paper issuances so they can cheerfully and without guilt wipe their butts.

Once the powers-that-be buy the Gorebull Warming myth, there is no limit to the bullshit that they will enforce in fighting the non-existent "problem". AlBore and his clique should be held responsible for every penny of the billions of dollars that will be utterly wasted in the name of his science fantasy.

These guys must really miss the war years. Oh, those were the days! Don't forget to rip the copper pipes and wires out of your home and turn it all in to the recycling centers.

This is yet another example of George W. Bush showing absolutely zero leadership. He should be out front in tearing down this idiocy, but instead he goes along to get along. :flame:

The influential Environmental Audit Committee says a personal carbon trading scheme is the best and fairest way of cutting Britain's CO2 emissions without penalising the poor. It's the first step to creating a black market for goods affected by the carbon-rationing scheme.

I got my thread title on another site changed from: What's so great about Britian? to this:
MPs come up with the 'Carbon Card' idea

:( apparently they think it's a good idea those English people. Though I hate stereotyping them.

Britain (what's so Great about it?)

Nothing. Used-To-be-Great Britain is living, glaring example of what happens when you leave the back door open and let leftist slither inside (a.k.a "democracy").

Pay close attention, guys. And get used to the idea. This is what America is on its way to becoming. And no, voting for John "The Enviro-Maverick" McCain is NOT the solution, so I politely ask the usual suspects to spare me their tiresome "monsters under the bed will get you if you don't vote for McCain" prophecies.

What the eco-nazis want is to radically change our way of life. They want us to be like Europe. Ride bicycles, like China. They are pissed off because more and more middle-class people are living in larger houses, are driving larger cars. In short, they are not living according to the Marxsist code: equal poverty for everyone.

McCain will lead us there, too, make no mistake. Only more slowly than Hussein and/or Hillary.

You mean: ride bicycles like the Chinese used to before they discovered the joys of prosperity with capitalism; now everyone who is anyone owns a car in China.

In fact, last time I was there I saw more BMWs and Mercedes, Lexus, etc., per capita in a couple of major cities than I have anywhere else including here in Germany.

QFT. I much preferred the old conservatism to this "compassionate," "new-tone" BS, which has lost any semblance of practicality.
