2 billion gone in seconds. Bad flight control data was the cause. All got out. Roll out of B2 that crashes starts at 1:50 of the video.

Actually, only $1.2 billion gone. Now, doesn't that make you feel a whole lot better?

It looked like the 2nd B-2 lifted off earlier and at a steeper angle than the first perhaps going into a stall. Thank the Lord everyone got out.

"The cost of the lost aircraft is about 1.4 billion dollars," the statement read.http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/storypage.aspx?StoryId=121023
The reason for the difference is in procurement costs. The initial cost, which is what fas.org quotes, includes development costs. Since those costs are covered in the initial procurement, any new bomber after that point would not include development costs, and would therefore be listed at a lower price.

Are you SURE it's not those robber-baron industry tycoons just price-gouging us poor little guys? It's gonna take all this life and the next several before I can even THINK about buying one a those!

On the other hand, you won't need a radar gun detector...
