“We’ve taken charge of him for an unlimited period,” a spokeswoman for the child protection agency in the county of Bostoni told the AFP Wednesday. “He’ll be put on a regime of strict diet and physical exercise by doctors (in a special care center).”
Unlimited? Sorry. Nothing gives a government the right to take a child from his parents without any reponsibility for his return. Some things are more important than physical health.
I wonder if the kid looked like this...

I agree Unlimited is not ok but you could make an argument that allowing your kid to be that heavy at such a young age (which is clearly far from healthy) could be the same as starving a child for which parents also loose custody of their kids.
That kid weighs as much as I do (I cant believe I just let you guys know my weight) Their is no way he can handle it. I am a fully grown woman of decent height. I don't think a seven year old is
5'5 1/2''. His mobility is probably low and I wouldn't be shocked if he had more problems than that.

I don't know, but when he grows up, he's liable to look like this:

Or maybe like this:

Maybe he'll look like this:

Then again, he may look like this:

Not the parents' fault. Something's genetically wrong. No healthy kid that young weighs that much.

Actually I know a few kids that the only thing wrong with them is that their parents let them eat whatever, whenever they want and don't make them do any exercise. They are all grossly overweight...to the point it hurts to look at them. It's not hard for a kid to pack on weight if they're eating fat laden foods and doing nothing but sitting in front of the TV all day.
A 11 year old I know will eat 2lb of cooked bacon in less than 10 minutes and claim to still be hungry and want more. Yes, she is fat, she wears a women's size 18 at 11. Her problem is that the only time she's not eating is when she's in school or asleep.

If the kid grows up to be a miserable failure (http://www.michaelmoore.com) . . . well, Prez, you heard it here first!

No 7-year-old Romanian kid weighs that much unless he has a genetic condition. I'll bet Wolfcounsel's paycheck on it.
