Israel mum on rehearsal for Iran strike

Israel's military refused to confirm or deny Friday a report that its warplanes staged a major rehearsal for an attack on Iran early this month.

A New York Times report published Friday quoted U.S. officials as saying more than 100 Israeli F-16s and F-15s staged the maneuver over the eastern Mediterranean and Greece in the first week of June. It said the aircraft flew more than 900 miles, roughly the distance from Israel to Iran's Natanz nuclear enrichment facility, and that the exercise included refueling tankers and helicopters capable of rescuing downed pilots.

Of course just because they are staging a practice run does NOT necessarily mean they are going to act anytime soon...

Personally I don't believe they are about to do ANYTHING... Why? Because Israel right now is being "led" by their own version of Jimmuh Carter, and that man is incapable of imagining a pre-emptive strike... A pre-emptive strike is the kind of thing Netanyahu would be planning, and Olmert is NO Netanyahu...

More likely Israel is doing this exercise as a "response" to anything Iran might initiate... And if the NY Times knows about it, you can bet Israel wanted Iran to see what they were doing... The whole thing is just a show of Israel's capabilities... The world KNOWS Israel has nukes - now they are demonstrating to Iran just how far their reach is without actually reaching directly toward Iran, which Iran could claim as an aggressive act on Israel's part...

Once again Israel shows that they have more geo-political savvy than the UN and all the Arab states...

And if I'm Israel, I'd say "no way" when B.O. looks for their help, much like we should say "NO" to France when they scream to us for Liberation again. America will bring it's own fate upon itself much like the French have.
