CNN host says leadership in 'sorry condition' and inability to 'protect the American consumer' is 'sufficient reason to impeach a president.'

CNN’s Lou Dobbs has been on a tear about the recent tainted-tomato salmonella outbreak, but this time he’s taken it a step further and is calling for the ultimate political punishment.
The “Lou Dobbs Tonight” host placed the blame for the recent salmonella outbreak squarely on President George W. Bush, calling for his impeachment on the June 19 broadcast. Contaminated tomatoes from an unknown source or sources have sickened 383 people since April, according to the Associated Press. “You know, I have heard a lot of reasons over the years as to why George W. Bush should be impeached,” Dobbs said. “For them to leave the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in this state, its leadership in this sorry condition and to have no capacity apparently or will to protect the American consumer – that is alone to me sufficient reason to impeach a president who has made this agency possible and has ripped its guts out in its ability to protect the American consumer.”

Dobbs is one of the few voices in the media who cares about the porous border and the threat it poses, but this is ridiculous.

Where does the constitution state that it is the president's duty to protect consumers?

Yeah, I mean, I don't even think that they traced the cause of the deadly tomatoes, but I do have a hunch...

Somebody best advise McCain and Obama that the president's job just got MUCH, MUCH harder. Now he's supposed to be down on the line, inspecting 'maters as they come out of the trees, in addition to greeting heads of state and other shit.
Presidenting ain't just inside work with no heavy lifting any more.

I have always liked Lou Dobbs as a voice of reality in the midst of pro illegal alien propaganda but as was said, this does a lot of damage to his credibilty.
Cleary George W. Bush rubbed raw chicken meat on all the tomatoes and that is why there has been salmonella outbreaks.:roar:

Cleary George W. Bush rubbed raw chicken meat on all the tomatoes and that is why there has been salmonella outbreaks. That makes as much sense as anything Dobbs said.

I'm betting a million to one it has a bunch to do with crap on people's hands when they handle the tomatoes.

The looney leftist arsewipes whose obsesssion with impeaching Bush as revenge for the impeachment of Blowjopb BIlly are going to be disappointed when he leaves office in Januiary without its even being considered
If that lyperliberal imbecile seriously thinks that Congress is going to impeach a president for a salmonella outbreak, he's too stupid to live. His one saving grace is that he is utterly irrelevant. Like Denny Kookinich.

I think he was trying to make a point on the absolute inaction of Pres. Bush in dealing with the border situation. In fact, read the article...it's an indictment of the FDA and it's utter incompetence. His disgust with Bush is that he's left the admins of the FDA in place.
Whatever...

A lot of bureaucrats get appointed by one administration and stay in for years afterward, even if the next president is of another party. It's probably all but impossible to get entrenched bureaucrats out, even if they are utterly incompetent.
