The US Food and Drug Administration originally theorized that tomatoes were the source of the salmonella poisoning, which has afflicted 943 people in 40 ...
You would think the places we get our food would have to have the same clean water standards that we do here.

I say declare amnesty for salmonella from Mexico. We can't hope to round up ever bit of food that has been here.

I am not so sure. If they can't even figure out whether it's tomatoes or jalapenos or cilantro, I don't have much faith in their efforts to find anything ... even with both hands and a flashlight.

Salmonella cannot survive in an environment of jalapeņos. Hell, I myself barely survive them!
