Decision follows complaints by magazine editor

In the battle of the sexes, women's magazine editor Cynthia Good said this was a skirmish she had to fight.

Across Atlanta they stood, orange signs with black letters that read "Men At Work" or "Men Working Ahead."

Sometimes, the signs stood next to women working alongside the men.

Good demanded Atlanta officials remove the signs and last week, Atlanta Public Works Commissioner Joe Basista agreed.

Score one for gender equality, Good said Wednesday.

"They get it," Good said about the city in a telephone interview.

Public Works officials are replacing 50 "Men Working" with signs that say "Workers Ahead." It will cost $22 to cover over some of the old signs and $144 to buy new signs, said Public Works spokeswoman Valerie Bell-Smith said.

If I, being of the male gender, am a 'human', is she a 'huho'?

Contrary to popular opinion, people are either of the male or female SEX. Words are male or female in gender. But in that thing's case, it would be called a fugly. All sensible women are human also.

You got dat rite. I feel the same way about teachers who use gender regarding the genitalia of human beings. Sex is perfectly okay to use, and it is the correct word.

Okay, everyone. Let's count in Latin from one to 10. Unus, duo, tres, quattuor, quinque, gender, septem, octo, novem, decem!

You are correct, sir.

For example, farmers "sex" their baby chicks when examining them to see if they are male or female. They do not "gender" the chicks.

But the Left has so polluted and bastardized the modern English language, that 100 Superfund Language programs could not make a dent in it.
