I was watching cartoons with my little cousin (there was nothing else to do) and I started noticing something. All of the shows he watched were anime (or something made in Japan) and they all taught that all violence was basically wrong, that people were basically good, and that we should let other things do the fighting for us.
Is it just me, or is that a sign that political correctness has leaked in to even kids' television shows?
I remember coming home from school every day to watch "Batman" and waking up Saturday morning to see not only "Batman" but "Beast Wars", "Batman Beyond", "Superman", and "X-Men".
All of those shows had one thing in common: there are bad people in society and sometimes we have to stand up to those people with violence when no one else will.
All of those shows also included self-sacrifice and courage through the toughest times.
I was watching the crapanime shows that were on and I ended up rolling my eyes. The shows that my little cousin taught me said that everyone's a good person, deep, deep down inside and that violence is never the answer. They also never engage in actual physical violence, they either pilot robots and/or get monsters to do it for them. The only show that showed physical violence was "Dragonball Z", but even that failed to impress me (too much of a soap drama feel to it I found).
Has anyone else noticed this?

Pfft, most good anime teaches deep deep messages involving love, forgiveness, and other things. The best ones do it through the use of graphic violence and all out carnage. You must have been watching that joke of a channel called Cartoon Network lol.

But no I don't think its PC crap, its Japanese, a different culture. AMERICAN cartoons are the weak crappy ones really now that Justice League and all that stuff is gone.

...It was actually. It kind of turned me off to the concept of anime too. I'm talking about the PC crapanime that's fed daily to kids.

Bad Anime: Dragonball Z
Good Anime: That scene in Kill Bill.

Remember that the last time the Japanese tried to solve their problems by picking a few fights they got their heads handed to them in a mushroom cloud.

From people that soon became some of their best friends in an otherwise unfriendly world, to boot.

I like transformers, I think of decepticons as democrats and autobots as republicans.
