I'm so sorry for being so late with the Book Club Thread. Guess this month it will be a short one.
Okay, on to the books!
I have finished two in the past couple of weeks:
1. "Cradle and All" by James Patterson
A very confusing book. Definitely NOT one of my favorite Patterson books at all. The religious aspect was discombobulated in my opinion, and the book had very bad flow.
2. "Adam" by Ted Dekker
EXCELLENT book. In contrast to Patterson's book above, this book takes a similar theme, fleshes it out in an interesting way, adds a twist, and definitely delivers a thrilling read. It also sheds light (I believe intentionally) on the aspect of the reality of evil among us. I would highly recommend this book.
I have just started Joel Rosenberg's book "Dead Heat," but I'm only a couple of chapters into it yet. So far it's a good read.
I tried several times to get through Jonah Goldberg's "Liberal Fascism" -- don't know if it's because of a hectic life right now or what, but I simply could not get through it. I will try again and order from the library in a couple of months. I have no doubt it's a good book, I just can't seem to wade through it right now.
One of my dearest friends dropped off a box of her old books for me with an added birthday bonus, a book she bought for me. So for the next couple of weeks I will be reading the following:
"Polar Shift" by Clive Cussler (my birthday present)
"Treasure of Khan" by Clive Cussler
"The Book of the Dead" by Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child
"The Sigma Protocol" by Robert Ludlum
"Simple Genius" by David Baldacci
and I also ordered the first Brad Thor book from the library: "The Lions of Lucerne"
