"Dissent is the highest form of patriotism." -- Fake Thomas Jefferson
Actually, Thomas Jefferson never said or believed that, which makes perfect sense given that he was a very wise man and that phrase is nonsense.
Dissent can indeed be patriotism, but it can just as easily be foolishness, disloyalty, or even treason. Moreover, it's hard to miss the fact that most people who use the phrase "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism," seem to have an active dislike of their country.
A true American patriot may disagree with his government, criticize his nation's policies, or refuse to go along with the majority of his fellow citizens, but he will also never turn his back on his own country or hold it in contempt.
"Those who would sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither." -- Misquoted Ben Franklin

"Liberal wisdom" is oxymoronic, like "political integrity" or "journalistic objectivity". That aside, Mr. Hawkins nails the lib mantras to the wall.

Yeah, you can tell it's good by the huffing and puffing it produced among certain posters.
Someone immediately jumped on the "I have a B.A.," and "theocracy! theocracy!" band wagon," while the other moron pretended to dismiss Jefferson's real quote as "patriotic piffle."
I wonder which of those was cerberus?

I can call all my own opinions "facts" too.
Here's my "fact." Liberals who use emotion to do their political thinking will always run the risk of making their dissent look like dislike. And conservatives who use emotion to respond to those liberals will always look like they can't tell the difference between the two.

And you can't tell your bleep from a hole in the ground.
Conservatives do not respond with emotion, as you mistakenly put it. ldb83, you really must stop this "well, you do it, too!" nonsense. That is childish and does not add anything to your credibility.

Besides, all liberals ever do is call their emotions "facts." Look at global warming.

If you honestly thought conservatives don't often respond emotionally to liberals, then I'd have zero concern about how credible you find me to be.

Right in a row like that... that's pretty funny.

That fine, then, because I never found you credible in any way.

Laughter is always abundant in the mouth of idiots. Laugh away.
And no, that's not emotion. That's accuracy.
