American Thinker

Many of us seem to get caught up in the day to day tug of war of the presidential race, worrying whether the "people" will "understand" the true nature of this event or that one.

The unspoken premise made by many of us is that the American voter is stupid and easily misled. This is a prevelant attitude taken by both sides but especially liberals who have been whining for years that conservatives have "fooled" the American people into voting against their economic interests.

Well, guess what. It shouldn't surprise you that the American people are a lot smarter than most of us give them credit for.

Not the ones I work with. Knee-jerk, uninformed, rich=mean poor=good believers, bubble heads, every single one of them.

Forget the bloody press. The drive by media has been exposed a long time ago. So for Mr. Moran to come now and tell me "Uhhh, look. The average people dont' believe in the press," please, that's about as old news as the sinking of the Titanic.

Only Obama's victory/defeat will prove to us exactly how "smart" the average voter is.

Nope, this article is BS and the proof is right in front of our faces: BO and Juan McCain.

"Myth of the stupid voter"

Myth? 57,355,978 stupid voters wanted a traitor/war criminal as POTUS in 2004. Stupid voters are responsible for Kennedy, Kerry, Reid, Pelosi, Boxer, etcetera, etcetera. The US Congress is largely the result of stupid voters.

LOL. Actually, I love it. I work at a famous cosmetics emporioum and, being a cosmetics and fragrance junkie, I am in my element.

Also, I keep well away from politics there, which is why I am - so far- universally liked. But I did hear one or two talk politics once, and I was so depressed.

Doc, gotta respectfully disagree...I don't think they're stupid, I think they're greedy, bottom-feeding scumbags who know how to milk the system. They're very cunning, single-mindedly self-serving and would sell their own mother(s) down the river for a buck, but I don't think for a nanosecond that they're stupid.

We must agree to disagree. In Massholechusetts, I'm surrounded by idiots who vote for the Special-Ks and their fellow libeRATs because they're too farking stupid to know that the alphabet also contains an 'R'.

The political climate of America would be drastically improved if voting required an IQ test.

Fair enough...but, we are in complete agreement concerning:
"The political climate of America would be drastically improved if voting required an IQ test"
1000%

The political climate of America would be drastically improved if voting required an IQ test.Maybe, but it will never happen. Too many Democrats would be disenfranchised.

Beg to differ. IQ tests are merely circumstantial evidence. Sharon Stone is supposed to have a high IQ. So is Jessica Simpson. Look at their voting record. IQ tests merely prove that you can find your butt with both hands if you think a bit.

The political climate of America would be drastically improved if voting required a (unreivsed) history test, a basic economics test, a basic maths test, and a civics test. Oh, and the voter wannabe must prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he/she is a tax payer.

Our voting systems merely proves that democracy gives certain rights to many who do not deserve them, and that allows said undeserving people to cause a lot of mischief in a country.

Voting should be an earned priviledge, not a right.

I listened to half of that tape loop. It's all I needed. "For the first time it feels good to be an American." Is he taking voice lessons from Michelle?

I remember the headline of the British cage liner that asked how could 57,xxx,xxx (I don't remember the exact number) Americans be so dumb, as that was the current vote total for Bush. It ended up being very close to the final vote total for Kerry.

You know, my old principal had a picture of that hanging up in his office, too bad he was too much of a fatass who fed off the fear of children. I guess, thats another reason why I hate liberals/democrats, the principal and owners son were both liberal and hated bush very much.

in other words, the principal scared the living crap out of children constantly when they weren't doing anything and yelled at them. Thats what happens with power hungry liberals, when I left I think I know what the people of Iraq felt like when Saddam was gone.

The hunger for power crosses all political and ideological lines, Taylor.
