Careful, this is a disgusting NY Times Op-Ed piece. I can only imagine there is nothing worse than a grown man fellating another man in public, but here we have it in full.

How Obama Became Acting President

He never would have been treated as a president-in-waiting by heads of state or network talking heads if all he offered were charisma, slick rhetoric and stunning visuals. What drew them instead was the raw power Mr. Obama has amassed: the power to start shaping events and the power to move markets, including TV ratings. (Even “Access Hollywood” mustered a 20 percent audience jump by hosting the Obama family.) Power begets more power, absolutely.

By the way, here's the picture of the author, Frank Rich, who apparently thinks its a good thing to have a non-elected man running around the world pretending he's president.

What is the danger of that, you ask? A man who hasn't been elected, meeting with Maliki in Iraq for troop withdrawal, going to Europe as our 'representative, pretending to be President of the United States? I'm not sure we've seen this level of presumptuous arrogance ever before in the history of electoral campaigning. Ever.
Like a girl playing with Barbie dolls pretending to be a housewife, Obama is running around in a jet on your dime pretending to be President. And Maliki is triangulating between Bush and Obama using leverage to position himself, while Obama seems to think it okay to be used in such a way, nodding his head and agreeing to his terms, in effect, acting as President without a single vote cast.
And Frank Rich doesn't seem to think anything's particularly wrong with that. Indeed, he kind of champions it as 'leadership', when we, the voters, have had no say. No say in who WE WANT to represent us. NO SAY in whether or not we want some PUNK from Chicago to be our international laison for us in Iraq. NO. SAY. NO. VOTE.
But it doesn't matter. He's Blammo. And that's all that matters.
He's president.

From the comments, there appears to be a lot of people who think an unelected president is a good thing.

You look kinda lonely on this thread, Wyatt, so I'll join in.
Of course the lefties like a unelected president. They idolize Castro, were against overthrowing Saddam and never embraced Maliki, always admired Lenin, Stalin, and so on. Why would they not like us to have the same thing?

Yes, but lefties also bitch if the "non-elected" president is a republican. They're still tearing their hair because "Bush was selected, not elected, in 2000."
It's liberals who're always "selecting" what is right and what is wrong, what is legal and what is not.
Bastards.

And it is also why they love the IslamoDogs so much, because they have sooooooo much in common with them.
After all, both the Ragheads and DemHeads want to drag us back to the 7th century. They just want to go about it in different ways:
The Ragheads by Burkha and Bayonet.
The Leftists by Elitism and EnivroMarxism.

And here's the infuriating thing about it - Those heads of state, although they owe this arrogant Senator NO Recognition at all, were compelled to treat him with respect as he struts like a teenage peacock, filled with his own self-importance, because he MIGHT end up being the next President and they can't afford to offend him...
IOW, Obama had a diplomatic gun to their heads, which I'm sure left a lovely taste in their mouths...
If Obama loses this election I'd love to see him try to replicate that same celebrity world tour - The cold reception he'll get from Sarkosy, et al, will make him start doubting Global Warming...
And this Leftist Newspaper whore wants to spin this political extortion into a claim of "Raw Power to bring about change".....
I have a question for the Obama worshipers: If Obama is so powerful and such an amazing celebrity, why has his career in the Senate up until now been abysmally unremarkable? Why you'd think the Dems would all be marching in lock-step behind him doing his sovereign will...
